Well Tranmere hung on in there & took the victory - hell of a result when playing with a man down for almost the entire match.
Most of the other ties still very close affairs with Villa having a slight edge in the first Championship play off...

Congratulations to Tranmere back in the Football League after 3 years.....a good club with decent supporters.
A fantastic result when you consider their defender was sent off in the first minute.

But even more drama in the Scottish League 2 play off between Cowdenbeath and Cove Rangers where the visitors ended up with 8 men after 3 late sendings off.The Highland League side had led 2-1,at one stage, but lost 3-2 to a highly disputed 3rd goal when the Cove goalkeeper looked to be fouled before the ball ended up in the net.

There was even high emotion in the Eurovision Song Contest in Portugal where a man ran onto the stage and interrupted the song being sung by the UK.At first organisers and the worldwide audience thought it was a protest against Everton FC and Sam Allardyce but it turned out to be against the UK Government ! :D

Finally, good luck to Harrogate Town in todays Conference play off Final against Brackley Town.
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Hamburg become the last of the original members of Bundesliga to be relegated

Good luck to Kiel (Regional league in 2012 and 3rd tier in 2017) in their playoff with Wolfsburg

Last day in the Scottish Premiership today..
Celtic had (obviously) walked away with the title but there was second place up for grabs.
Aberdeen were in that spot from Rangers by a point but were away at Celtic.. :yikes:
Rangers were away at Hibs & after about a quarter of an hour were 3 nil down. Then all change as they went 5 - 3 up & Hibs fans started leaving the ground. Many to return to their seats as they dragged one back & then another to make it a 10 goal draw!!
Aberdeen, meanwhile, scored a goal & hung onto it till the death to be just about the first Scottish side to get a win at the Hoops,,

Championship play offs
Fulham 2 Derby County 0
(Agg 2-1)
It was as my knowledgeable friends told me it would be as Fulham did enough in the second half at home to progress to the play off final. In truth Derby were pretty negative on the night as they tried just to hang on to what they had, creating absolutely nothing at the other end.
Villa & Middlesbrough conclude their tie tonight to decide who will face Fulham..

Well done to Fulham, who play very attractive football and it would be nice to see them back in the Premiership.

There millionaire owner is in the process of buying Wembley Stadium from the FA.I've heard that Fulham will play their home games there and Craven Cottage will be sold ? Dunno about that as Fulham only attract around 25,000 max.
Hopefully it is just a rumour.....maybe your "knowledgeable friends" might know more,Bob ? :D

Ah, they are knowledgeable on the football side rather than the financial, Zid.. :D
However, many of the foreign club owners are businessmen & see it as a business, not as the result of a deep & lasting devotion to an area or the traditions of the club. For those at the very top of the tree ( e.g. Sheikh Mansour ) it might be chump change & they are happy with the cost for the world wide exposure it brings to their other enterprises; others (e.g. the Glazers ) use it as a cash cow.
I have no idea what Shahid Khan's intentions & reasoning is, but I imagine that a lump of land bordering the Thames in London would make a tidy sum as a building site... :D

Yeah, thats what I would be afraid of ! :( I've heard that some NFL will be played at Wembley but 25,000 Fulham fans in a ground holding 90,000........ :-s

Incidentally Fulhams manager,Slavisa Jokanovic, took Watford up to the Premiership a few years back but was then fired after he asked for a pay rise.......I wonder how Watford would be doing if they had stuck with him ?

EUROPA LEAGUE FINAL
Marseille 0 Atlético Madrid 3

LEAGUE ONE PLAY-OFFS
Rotherham United 2 Scunthorpe United 0 (Agg 4-2)
Atletico swept past Marseille for their 3rd. win in this competition in the last 9 years.
Will he go across the road to Real, Antoine Griezmann, scored twice to add another couple of £'s to his salary. :D

No fairy tale ending for The Iron as they concede 2 & then have a man sent off at Rotherham.
Third time lucky (they lost in the semis last year as well) maybe Jon..

LEAGUE TWO PLAY-OFFS
Exeter City 3 Lincoln City 1
(Agg 3-1)
Exeter go onto the final at Wembley on Monday, 28 May for the second successive year after scoring a couple of goals that were well worth the tie. Lincoln never had the rub of the green throughout the game but were certainly beaten by the better side on the night..

CARVALHAL LEAVES SWANSEA

Swansea City have parted company with manager Carlos Carvalhal following relegation from the Premier League.

LEAGUE TWO PLAY-OFFS
Notts County 1 Coventry City 4
(Agg 2-5)
So Coventry will play Exeter in the final on Monday, 28 May.
The start of a long road back for a side that were ex-Division 1 (before the Premiership existed) & went through multiple ownership issues - including playing miles away from the city of Coventry...
