A scrappy 1 - 0 away win. Brilliant.
Reading away in the week, and then the big one next Saturday.

After holding then league leaders Edinburgh to a goalless draw in early Feb, Peterhead have now won 3 on the trot, including their game in-hand and are now leading by 2 points. The 'Blue Toon' faces mid-table Elgin at home today whereas Edinburgh have a harder chauve away against 3rd place Clyde so someone will take a clattering there.
Peterhead eked out a 1-0 home win while Clyde had the same margin of victory over Edinburgh so the Blue Toon goes 4 points clear of Clyde at the top.

Haud gauin' the bluemogganers!
It's getting even better! Elgin beat Clyde and both Edinburgh and Peterhead won their games so Peterhead are now 5 points clear at the top.

That's a couple of come-from-behind wins for the Blue Toon in the past week.

Clyde have taken a 4-point deduction for fielding an ineligible player so that should derail their late leadership challenge.

Haud gauin' the bluemogganers!

Birmingham will be in a bit of trouble. A fan attacks Grealish on the pitch.

Take it the Highland League officials havent worked out that Fort William moved their ground INTO the harbour to get all their home matches postponed with a waterlogged pitch

A nice win for Leeds Utd last night. After grinding it out against Bristol City last Saturday, last night's game against Reading was won at a canter. :D Sheff U also won last night  so it's on to this Saturday and in an early KO at ER when the mighty whites take on Sheff U. This promises to be some game and the stakes could not be higher.
Norwich in action tonight at home to Hull. Not an easy game, but I think the canaries will have too much for the tigers.
Looking at some stats, and the average number of points required to make the play offs over the last 15 years or so is 73, The average points for automatic promotion is 86. I think that this season that won't be enough, maybe 88 or 89 points required.
I have everything crossed for Saturday.

"Middlesbrough fans will be given the chance to rename the Riverside Stadium for the visit of Norwich City as part of a day of celebration to showcase all that is good about the area." from Evening Gazette

Smoggieland
Stadium of Smog
The Smog bog
Smog on Tees stadium

Then if they are allowed to showcase what is NOT so good in the area :-&

The only game this season where they were leading 1-0 was abandoned after 38 minutes due to the waterlogged pitch. Here's some footage of west Highland watersports which also captures their 'winning' goal at the 3:36 mark. Surely a clip that will be up there in the pantheon of great moments in football, like the 1966 World Cup, Ronaldo's hat-tricks and Beckham's benders, no?

Anybody want to watch a bit of outrageous football skill, check out Norwich's 3rd goal against Hull last night.
Just outrageous.
Farke just signed another 3 1/2 years contract, till 2022.
Trying to keep below the radar, not commenting too much, Let LUFC & Bielsa take all the accolades.
Meanwhile, NCFC and the best coach in the division just keep ticking along.......
OTBC.
And Mick McCarthyless Ipswich, managed by Thug Lambert keep on drawing.
Could'nt happen to a nicer club. Going doooooooooown.

Yeah, looks like 2 out of Norwich,Leeds and Sheffield United for automatic promotion.
Sheffield United have surprised me a bit by hanging in there.....just 9 games to go now.

Norwich and Sheffield United for the automatic promotion places and West Brom to beat Leeds in the play off final.
Not everyone on the forum would be happy with that. :D
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

The Baggies deserve to stay put, if only for their shameful sacking of Darren Moore last Sunday. He stopped their early Championship free-fall after the hopelessly inept mismanagement of Pulis then Pardew conspired to end their 8-year joust in the EPL. They've been 4th placed or better for the past 18 weeks or so. Yeah... I guess he's really ----.

An interesting video about Championship finances of each club. it's a bit long, about 1 hour 20 minutes, but well worth watching. You even get to hear the words 'Leeds United' and 'model of financial stability' in the same sentence.
It's done by a guy who does a fantastic blog about all matters Championship.

Have to agree about West Brom, Tam. Disgraceful sacking.

And Zid; put the kettle on, we'll be round about quarter past August. :D

I did want NCFC to be promoted with the mighty LUFC but, having watched their last 2 home games, I would rather it be SUFC. Any team that feels the need to play muzak to create atmosphere when they score a goal deserves to play in the Conference.

Got me thinking. How many football clubs actually have a proper identity these days as football clubs for the true fans. In my opinion, Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle, Millwall. You could add the Mancs, WHU and Chelsea but, it's a stretch.
