23,000 bht at udon general, and the guy knows what he's talking about ,he advised me on many things , for Eg , don't bother with the Echo cardiogram as it will not show the type of heart disease i have , the great so called Bangkok heart hospital in BKK , stated i had no heart disease what so ever on the strength of an Echo, i lost my pension because of this , now the battle begins ,

I had no issues with the quality and service. The only complaint I had was conflicting information I received from the nurses and Doctor before I left. The Doc said that I shouldn't exercise or lift anything for a couple of days - the nurses said 4 weeks.

in europe when they do an angiogram (heartcatherisation) , they now will mostly access true the arm and if this is not possible the old fashionded way true the groin ...in case they access true the arm , you will not have to stay overnight , true the groin 1 night stay only ..., i went in thinking i needed a stent (knew i had a problem) and ended up with an urgent 5way bypass operation , as i did not have insurance they handled it as cheap as possible ...
normally before they do an angiogram they will do a cardiogram on which they will see if there is a problem or not and if so they will go further with the angiogram...when they perform the angiogram they will place the stent at the same time if needed , now for those interested in what this costs in europe ,
i payed 1.100 euro for the angiogram and 11.000 euro for the 5 way bypass , was 1 week hospitalized ...
let us say with some other small doctor bills about 12.200 euro ...
btw the price of 1 stent was 2.000 euro....as info ... ;)

your correct , through the arm,Udon also prepped the groin just in case stent was needed,KKU hosp went straight for the groin as they had the knowledge of blocked arteries from Udon, but what surprised me was your cost's ,i was quoted at least double that back in blighty , 14 years ago, the nights i had to stay ,3of them were for observation as had an heart attack and then constant Angina

I presume those costs are purely for the procedure itself and not the related tests, nursing, accommodation, meals, medication, etc.

Malc , depends on your money situation , i can't comment on stents in legs , but the Udon gen hospital ( and it's cheap ) do Angiogram and the doc is brilliant , good english and straight talker if he can't do it he will say so ,( no making excuses s--te that you get of some docs) he would have done my heart stents but admitted they were to complicated for his expertise , so KKUH khon kaen university hospital , they succeeded ,i was happy with the professional service i received , theres no point in quoting costs as it is a very different procedure ,i would believe most people who have has similar expiriences will point you in the direction of Khon Kaen , good luck sorry i can't be of more help ,

Malc

My 2 bobs worth

The angiogram is the simple part of the exercise.

The results / report can be transferred to any clinical provider.

The invasive procedure /s if required is where you need to clearly get good care and precise understanding of all the issues associated.

Next time i see my neighbour who is a General Surgeon here n Udon I will.sus him out. He works in the private sector but would offer some advice for me
