Immigration questions and checks on arrival.
Re: Immigration questions and checks on arrival.
Assuming you have a Multiple entry tourist visa you will be given 60 days on arrival, extendable by 30 days. Then you MUST leave the country. On re-entering, you will be given another 60 days, again extendable by 30 days. You may enter at any time and be given 60 days during the validity of the visa. Hence, you may enter on the last day of validity of the visa and be given another 60 days, extendable by 30 days.
Re: Immigration questions and checks on arrival.
BTW, its been mentioned here that if you are married you can get a 60 day extension while using a tourist visa. I would doubt that, but I may be wrong. In the past I have only been given 60 day extensions on Non immigrant visa. When using tourist visas, have only ever been given 30 days.

Re: Immigration questions and checks on arrival.
No. You can only have one permission to stay extension for one entry and the 30 days are added to the existing time so you have no need to wait for day 59 you can go in a week before and you will still get the 30 days added to your permission to stay.pipoz4444 wrote:OK does that mean (assuming I am not married) thatsometimewoodworker wrote:The rules on the METV and extensions are quite simple. Each entry is for 60 days each time you enter and can be extended for 30 days at a cost of ฿1,900 (unless you are married to a Thai when it is a 60 day extension)Barney wrote:Got my first entry stamp last night with the new visa, have till the 9th August. Depending on where you want to visit it can be cheaper or more convenient to exit and re-enter than to extend.
You can enter as often as you want within the 6months from the issue date of the visa and get another 60 days each time.
So enter on the last day of the visa and you will be able to stay about 9 months total (depending on how soon after the visa was issued you first came in)
Don't forget that you will need a re-entry permit after the visa expires if you want to keep that permission to stay active, if you want to leave and return.
FWIW you would find it hard to get anywhere near 90 entries let alone 1,000
I arrive on a 60 Day Visa
Then on day 59, I trundle down and pay TB 1,900 and get my 30 Day Visa extension
Then on day 88, I trundle down and pay TB 1,900 and get another 30 Day Visa extension, and so on, assuming that I don't get married in between visa's
How often can I keep doing this
Re. FWIW you would find it hard to get anywhere near 90 entries let alone 1,000 - What exactly does this mean??
Hate this getting married thing [-o<

Then on day 89 exit Thailand return the same day and get another 60 days that can be extended for 30 days.
Rinse and repeat.
Don't forget to do your last border hop just befor the VISA expires to get the maximum use.
And getting 90 entries would mean leaving and re-entering more than once a day.

AFIK You can extend any permission to stay, even a visa exempt for 60 days as long as you are married or have Thai children, you need:skinner wrote:BTW, its been mentioned here that if you are married you can get a 60 day extension while using a tourist visa. Re: Immigration questions and checks on arrival.
Well back again on my 6 month Multi entry tourist visa. Could not be easier as a tourist. Now have my 2nd 60 day stamp after travelling to Vietnam for 10 days. Will head out again to Vietnam on the next 60 day mark in December as I have a 3 month multi entry visa into Vietnam. Will get me back into Thailand again for another 60 days, giving about 7 months.Barney wrote:Got my first entry stamp last night with the new visa, have till the 9th August. Was interested to listen to the conversation of 2 women in the Sydney Thai visa office.
The 2 women, and I'll only assume they were Australian citizens, were getting vocally excited about having to wait 2 months from application to get Thai visas for their husbands. The husbands were not there ( maybe in detention), only the women were present. The men have Iranian passports and the women could not understand why they could not get their tourist visas in the 3 day wait period as applies to Australians. As I listened and the volume went higher and higher it became clear that the men are not Australian citizens, as yet, but their argument was, they live in Australia so is the same. The Thai guy behind the desk held his cool for a long period and eventually said, you have 2 choice....give me the application and come back in 2 months or apply again when your husbands have Australian citizenship and wait the 3 days. They left.
He's a nice guy in the Sydney office and always helps explain the situation to applicants. I doubt the 2 woman will receive the Thai smile next time.
# First time I have noticed a little sign on the airport Immigration officers booth advising to provide a phone number and the full hotel address. He didn't ask for a phone number and I only ever tell them I am staying at the Novatel airport hotel.

Re: Immigration questions and checks on arrival.
arrived on a Thai Air flight from Hong Kong into Suvarnaphumi last Thursday night. June 30, 2017.. On the final approach we were force fed the Swampy arrival procedures over the in-flight entertainment system.. I actually paid attention and my ears perked up at the notice, "foreigners residing in Thailand may use the Fast Track Priority Immigration line." Hmm.... So, when we walked into the Immigration Hall I asked the guy from Immigration who was doing greetings about it.. He said, "yes, if you already have a visa, go to Fast Track." No one else was at the Fast Track line which had two windows open.. Dodged a queue of several hundred on that one....

Fraze, the fast track entrance is totally different from the normal entrance? Correct?wazza wrote:He said, "yes, if you already have a visa, go to Fast Track." No one else was at the Fast Track line which had two windows open
Barney, they have been doing this for a while and sometimes have girls walking through the line checking on this.Barney wrote:# First time I have noticed a little sign on the airport Immigration officers booth advising to provide a phone number and the full hotel address.
I saw a person chuck a wobbly at the counter a while back because he was only staying for the day with no accommodation. Didn't matter, he had to leave and come back with a number.
He could have just made one up, but he was too angry to think of that.

Re: Immigration questions and checks on arrival.
I was alerted to this back in January this year when I arrived back from Aus. I also came economy less hassle as well definitely not same scrutiny as you get in the big Que.
Re: Immigration questions and checks on arrival.
Can anyone explain where this Fast Track Entrance is ? Is it in the same General Immigration area ?
I missed it few months ago.. I would like to try later this month.
Thanks in advance. Have a safe evening.

Re: Immigration questions and checks on arrival.
It is not in the General Immigration Area.
Instead of turning into that you carry on along the concourse.
It is then the next turn off to your left after the General Area.

Re: Immigration questions and checks on arrival.
That’s only correct if you are coming from the West side (i.e. Concourses E, G & F).
There are two main immigration halls, West & East, plus the Premium (aka Priority & FastTrack) immigration hall which lies between the two main immigration halls.
If you are coming from the East side (i.e. Concourses A, B or C), then instead of turning right into the East Immigration hall you carry on past it and then turn right into the Premium immigration hall (if you go too far you will get to the West immigration hall.

Ah thanks for that Jimbo..
Strange... after all my landings at Swampy, I have, obviously, never landed at A,B or C...
I guess that is all down to who you fly with & that has been BA or EVA when flying back long haul to there..

Re: Immigration questions and checks on arrival.
Does anyone know if there is a Fast Track Immigration Kiok - service at Don Muang airport ?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
Re: Immigration questions and checks on arrival.
This is great news as I have been paying about 800Baht to Bangkok Flight services to meet me off the plane and take me through the fast track.
Now it's free. Cool!!!!
It's over to the right hand side, reserved for elderly, injured etc.
I paid some mob money to get taken through there once too.
