Juice and Pills Can Be a Deadly Mix
Re: Juice and Pills Can Be a Deadly Mix
I have no feelings either way about the usefulness, or otherwise, of the topic. However I do think that it is extremely unlikely that the case quoted - that an expat died as a result of eating 5 paracetamol combined with fruit juice - is unlikely in the extreme..
My objection to you DuiDui49 is where you posted it.
You still appear to be unable to grasp that the Forum is divided into sections so that readers can concentrate on what is of interest to them!!
Please ensure, in future, that you post in the area appropriate for the subject matter..

Isn't that up to each individual/reader to make and check and hopefully be moore "safe"And i don't preach,i only give you some info..up to the reader to make their decision how to use my info posted. And maybe we don't have to learn by doing "costly"misstakes like maybe our Fathers and Mothers did..not everything was better before Internet hit us..me think.

Re: Juice and Pills Can Be a Deadly Mix
The original post by Dui was a Thailand News item...so there would be fine..
However if he knew he was going to develop it into a general thread about Health..then as pal52 says..
would also be fine
He posted it in
General Udon Thani Forum
& it has absolutely nothing specifically to do with Udon Thani & more so than
Where to Buy Things in Udon
would be appropriate
It is not rocket science!! ..

Re: Juice and Pills Can Be a Deadly Mix
This is to be taken as interest only. Some time back I was a bit concerned about , orange. grapefruit , and pomelo fruit as I also take meds that caution about grapefruit juice. My own research showed me althoigh all were of the citrus family, the
grapefruit had something unique to it, that affects some meds. Noticeably its only grapefruit that is refered to , to avoid.
Just sayin

You apparently missed the words BEFORE the ones you quoted Dui...

Re: Juice and Pills Can Be a Deadly Mix
Yes I have noticed that many meds have "cautions" (in the supporting notes) about not taking them at the same time as grapefruit juice. I avoid grapefruit juice for that reason, so I don't then have to keep checking the notes in the med packets.
(Sounds like a "Health & Beauty" forum item to me).

Re: Juice and Pills Can Be a Deadly Mix
Regardless of whether drinking grapefruit juice with my pills is doing to kill me, although I don't seem to be doing so bad till now,I am amazed at the argumentative discussion going on between a certain member and a respected moderator, I thought according to forum rules, a mods decision was not to be disputed with suspension the penalty for doing so. Well Mr Mod?
Ageing is a privilige denied to many .

You are correct Val...
However, English is not Alfie's first language so I thought it better to try & explain the situation to him so he understood, rather than just act strictly in accordance with the rules.
My aim was to get him to continue posting, but in the correct part of the Forum.
The Mods move posts everyday to a more appropriate places &, generally, that is not an issue. However DuiDui49 was posting everything in the General Udon Thani Forum which meant everyone required action by someone else. Now he understands I am sure that it will no longer to an issue - which was always the aim..
