Magic Food Point DMK ...Good luck finding it.. It s located outside the airport terminal after the International Building, near the bus parking area. Limited food selection and low quality compared the one in BKK... Avoid it and save yourself few bahts and a deception.

The link gives step by step instructions on how to find the food court. I agree, the food isn't what I would want, but I know several expats who don't blink at eating อาหารสำเร็จ

As I began reading this sign on the rear door of the barbershop, I was sure it served as a warning sign for an emergency exit. And, as it turns out, that's exactly what the sign is for.

That's hilarious. Thailand can be absolutely delightful.

I was at the Nanyuan Restaurant today.....next to Bangkok Bank on Phosri Rd. Had a delicious lunch. The sign on the pillar said เปิดให้ บริการ 11.00 - 21.00 น. หยุดทุกวันพุธ
The first half is pretty easy to figure out without reading the Thai. But reading the second half helps prevent one of those posts by a disgruntled customer.

There are other places in Thailand that close on วันพุธ.......not all, but many. Sort of akin to only some Christians not eating meat on Fridays (remember those days?!), only, in this case, related to Thai beliefs. Anyone want to take a stab?

On the way back from the US Embassy visit in KK yesterday, I stopped by my hands-down favorite grilled chicken place........Wanna's Kaoswankwang Grilled Chicken. The place has been in business for ages.....and their chicken, somptom, or pork lahb never disappoints.
While there, I snapped a photo of their operating hours........Tues-Sun, with an unusual twist. Any takers?

Second, that nasty ฤ near the end of the word นักขัตฤกษ์ Anyone want to take a stab at how the last syllable of that word is pronounced?

Try Google Translate and the 'listen' button. I used it other day to look up 'no brain'. Now, when would I possibly have cause to use that in Thailand?

Yes, closed on Mondays, except when the Monday is a holiday (then they're open to feed all the travelers)

ฤษี......for a minute, I thought the ม was one of those silent final consonants. ฤษี is one of those words I use to describe many of the expats here who live out in the boonies.......you see them once in a blue moon.

Searching for reason #1979......searching......then, bingo! Right in front of me.

ท่อตัน ส้วนตัน 042-221-230. I called to confirm and the lady gave me a second number as well.....042-181-614. I took this photo near the airport, but the lady said they're based near BoBae. Apparently, they do jobs around the city. Looked like a sizeable motor in the back of the man's cart.

I'm guessing his prices are a good bit less than the average costs in Texas between $131 and $290

A little Thai goes a long way.

Yes, in my 21 years here, this is the first time I've seen a Thai Roto-Rooter! And that's one of those periodic problems that expats find themselves facing in Thailand. Only problem is, you won't find Roto-Rooter in the yellow pages!

I'm pretty sure I posted this some time back.......but it's worth another shot.

The driver in front of you is driving erratically, no blinkers, enters the roundabouts without following the rules of the road, driving way below the speed limit........what to do?

If the sticker on the back of the vehicle read: Beware of drunk driver......you'd keep your distance.
or if the sticker said: I got my license without taking driving lessons.......you'd keep your distance.

A little Thai goes a long way (to making your life here more enjoyable.
