Re: Looking for USAFSS and ASA veterans of Ramasun Station
I believe my husband was stationed at Ramasun sometime between 72 and 74. His name was Michael Burke and he was a crypto. He passed away from Col-rectal cancer in 1999 and had been sick for years. It actually started with barretts syndrome in his esophogis. I've been trying to find out if he was exposed to agent orange because I would like to let me children know if his cancer was hereditary or if it could have come from ao. I do not have a case with the government because for years they said we were not eligible because he was station in Thailand and did not have the kind of cancer that was on the list of recognized cancers. There is no history in his family of this type of cancer.

I was at Ramasun from 1973-1975.. If you are on Facebook I would suggest you join the Ramasun Station Thailand Facebook Page.. They have a variety of files posted on the site that talk about the presence of "non-tactical herbicides" as used at U.S. military posts in Thailand. https://www.facebook.com/groups/RamasunStation/files/

Re: Looking for USAFSS and ASA veterans of Ramasun Station
Send me PM and I will put you in touch with a very good friend that was at NPK. AO is now covered but you have to fight like hell for it. He finally won and has the info. All Vets from Thailand were exposed.

Re: Looking for USAFSS and ASA veterans of Ramasun Station
I was stationed at Ramasun in the 6924th Security Squadron from Nov '72 to Nov 73. Name is Robert Kepler and I was a SSgt at that time. I'm trying to get an Agent Orange claim going. I've been diagnosed with Diabetes, Neuropathy, and Chronic Lympho leukemia (CLL). I'm trying to find out if any others have developed similar or related problems. None of my problems have any history in my family. I can only attribute them to Agent Orange exposure while in Thailand. Any comments? Either post here or email me at [email protected]
Thanks, bob

Re: Looking for USAFSS and ASA veterans of Ramasun Station
I was stationed at Ramasun from July 1970 to July 1971, as a Lieutenant in charge of administration. Rich Goldstein
Re: Looking for USAFSS and ASA veterans of Ramasun Station
I also was also stationed at Ramuson (1966 - 1970). When I arrived the tent city was still in place but the barrack building were just being completed. I have wondered what become of the station after the military moved out. This is the first article I have found that even mentions the facility as it is now. Thanks for the shout out.

I served with USAF in Det 4 in 1969. I have also experienced complications (cancer) related to the exposure. There is a large group of us who talk regularly, and I only know one who has had success with the VA.

And, I'd be willing to bet that's the movie theater that was just behind the fountain circle.......now a hotel
Re: Looking for USAFSS and ASA veterans of Ramasun Station
parked in there a couple of weeks ago.. The name of the Hotel is "The Civilize"..
Looks like a real nice place but nary a car in the lot so I don't know if its actually open.
If it is indeed top notch you'd think the Lao Hi-So's would be all over it... http://www.civilizehotel.com/en/
