Re: MY house build to begin.
My girl is moving ahead in her capacity as resident Project Manager and has now got the 2 team installing the front deck handrails and stairs.
Plus the tiling of the front entrance wall.
Raised decking, stairs and rails for pool will be next.
The rail and stair blokes are welding in situ, went for round pipe cause I'm different. :-"

Re: MY house build to begin.
These guys are doing a great job of fabricating onsite, welding, grinding and painting as they go in place.
Got some paint on now and the stairs to install next. Bought the thick shera stair treads for the steps.
Paint them later.
The tiler did a good job on the front house stone wall.

Oh I thought it was a sandpit for the kids to play in, and to remind you of Bondi, but is the landing for the stairs..

Re: MY house build to begin.
Yeah the landing is for the stairs maaka. Turn right or left to exit. Girl will put a garden out front and landscape some grass and paths to the car port area and to the side of the house, AND, the yet to be built separate mother-in-law residence :-" , will be built once I demolish the old house we live in now.maaka wrote:Oh I thought it was a sandpit for the kids to play in, and to remind you of Bondi, but is the landing for the stairs..
Building in designated stages now, next, out the back is a raised steel framed deck around the pool by this same mob, 2mtr wide by a total of about 18mtrs long with 3 stairs access.
Then, at the very back of the house is a 9mtr x 20mtr covered roof area for dogs, water tanks, pumps, storage etc.

Re: MY house build to begin.
Well stair and front porch handrails complete. Ended up OK. Just have to paint the steps and install the LED lighting trips under the treads so blind freddy like me can go up and down safely.
Next post will be the pool deck startup and the Kitchen has started to be delivered.

Thanks FatoneFatone wrote:Looking brilliant mate
I honestly think the effort is top shelf since there are no pre assembled steel and all cut and fabricated onsite.
My Project manager (girlfriend) bought all the steel and good quality paints. Plenty of layers of paint, not just the quick brush.
The raised deck around the pool has started today, and a real level on the job???? pictures below.
Couple more deck steel shots.

Re: MY house build to begin.
Well the kitchen is fabricated and ready and the team of fitters are progressing and going at a good pace,
Very professional and even have a laser leveler machine. Woohoo!
Have cut the exhaust vent into the wall outside.
Power outlets on the walls were pre-installed as per their requirements.
They will be another week or more to complete all and hopefully all the white goods( fridge, microwave, oven, wine fridge, will follow quickly. All in the purchase package.
Missus chose the pumpkin colour cupboards.
Spent additional on the termite proof timber panels, at this stage it's the only timber in the house.
Black Granite tops to be installed, gas line to outside under the deck for the 2 bottles, exhaust hood, cook top, 2 under bench sinks and taps and fittings. etc.
Small amount of LED lighting under the only overhead cupboard near the cooktop. Movement sensor power up.
Have the large marble slab turning up soon from our granite supplier on the Nong Khai road to be placed on the short section of bench, Not that short it is 2.5 mtrs long x 850 high.
Only toying with the idea of LED lighting behind the marble piece??? My project manager can test with a torch first. She has final say? Since I'm not there. Some one has to go away and pay for it.
If you want to bother and look way back early in my thread , page 8, you will see the model shots from the supplier, should be close.

Re: MY house build to begin.
just a thought.. One of those large wall cutouts in the cabinet row looks like a refrigerator location.. I've found that other than the stove the largest constant producer of heat in the kitchen is the refrigerator.. In fact, in the mornings when we gt up the heat in the kitchen is palpable. So, since I have a ceiling exhaust fan in the kitchen I usually leave it on all night to evacuate that heat. I've considered putting in a thermostat controlled exhaust fan over the refrigerator which would automatically pull the hot air out....

Re: MY house build to begin.
Food for thought, FrazeeDK, but it is to late to change things now. The back section of the cupboard has a vent section behind at the wall to allow heat to escape up from the oven microwave and fridge. The fridge is a large double door job.FrazeeDK wrote:just a thought.. One of those large wall cutouts in the cabinet row looks like a refrigerator location.. It is a large open area for heat dissipation so I don't envisage any problems. Tiles go to the ceiling so no heat problems on the wall.
But thanks for the post and I will monitor the area.
Re: MY house build to begin.
there has been a lot of great planning on this build. I have built a house in Isaan and know the hassles. A big Congrats Barn
Re: MY house build to begin.
Query about this part ........thick shera stair treads for the steps............. what are these and where did you get them ?
Are they a type of pre-formed concrete and bolted in place?

Bluejets
They are specific thick stair tread by Shera and we got them at DoHome on the Nong Khai road. A composite fibre cement type product. Non slip. Coach bolted from the bottom. Will paint them later with a suitable colour, once construction work is completed.
They come in a length of 1200mm. Unfortunately I didn't know this width when I designed the front stairs and landing, my stair width is 1700mm. So I had them place the 1200 in the middle and cut 2 x 250 pieces and place them on the outside.
I'll put a LED lighting strip under each tread.
The lower platform and stairs will be done in tiles, to join the pathways to both sides of the house and the, yet to be built carport area.
The Shera deck is thinner and comes in 3 meter length's, same product and painted later.

Re: MY house build to begin.
Kitchen done and dusted, the team did a very good and professional job.
Exactly as we designed it. All items, gas and electric tested and commissioned.
Just need to put some wine in the small wine fridge. for my return to UT.
Seimens equipment.
Purchased the feature 1 piece marble slab separately from the granite shop. They came, cut and fitted to the cupboards.

Didn't purchase anything separate. The whole kitchen was designed, built and installed by a kitchen company in Udon. Including all sinks, taps, electric goods, hood and gas top.
Kitchen suppliers may sell them individually if you are thinking of retrofit.
