Very sad story here. My wife's young cousin lost a leg in a very recent motorbike accident (all too frequent in Udon apparently). He is 18 or so and was quite healthy, and I am not yet certain the extent of the amputation.
I want to help with rehab and medical care, eg. a prosthesis.
I am hoping for recommendations anywhere in Thailand for a specialist or hospital that might help with rehab and fitting an artificial leg suitable for a young healthy Thai man. I understand that the fitting process can be extensive.
Thank you for any help or suggestions. The life of a NE Thai rice farming family is not an easy one. The upside - he will have a loving extended family to care for him, and this new falang inlaw with a USA income to do what he can to help.
Finally, is AEK the best Udon hospital? Local doctors will be needed for him in the long term.

If you need a good orthopaedic doctor, I recommend Dr. Chatchai of Chatchai Orthopaedic Clinic (042) 243747 who works at his Udon Clinic Saturday, Sunday, Monday and in Bkk during the rest of the week. Dr. Chatchai helped me with my severe osteo arthritis when I was in Udon last January and has given me free fax and phone and email advice for my doctor and specialist here in Oz. I don't know if Dr Chatchai can help amputees but if not I would trust his recommendation to another doctor or hospital.
