The Sauce looks like a decent Viscosity.
Looks like a Makhani (Butter Chicken) style.
And i hope thats not Tongue marks on the empty plate.

Re: no indian restaurant in udon
It's the Chicken Bassanda (had to try it as it was NEW tonight).
A nice boquet, and a fairly mild taste. I'm sure I could taste....... mmmm Almond (which is not suprising seeing as it's got almonds in it :-" )
The marks on the plate, are NOT tongue marks Nothing so uncouth ........... they are from my middle "pinky" .......... well you can't waste good food can you.
Marks out of 10 ......... probably 7 ..... I prefer the Rogan Josh or Buffat which are always good for 9.
Had a chat whilst there, and provided he has enough notice, he said he will be happy to make Samosas/Onion Bhajii/Nan bread for Take aways, as well as the full selection of curries.
A bit of trivia (the sort that stays with you all your life as opposed to the important stuff that you forget in 10 mins)
Many of the "Indian" curries, especially the pork curries actually originated in Portugal
Anyone wanting to make their own curries ..... try some of these

Re: no indian restaurant in udon
Chicken Bassanda..? With Almonds, sounds like pasanda...the curry for a individual.!
Re: no indian restaurant in udon
AH OK Statto thanks for the report. Passanda a bit mild for me. Jalfrazi looks a nice idea (although they can be mild or wickedly hot depending on who made). And nan bread looks a must!!!!
My personal favourite is Dhansak (because I like the red lentils) but must be at least madras strength.
I will try early next week, as I like a chat to Jan now and again anyway, so nothing lost!!!!

WHO THE F*** HAS RATTLED YOUR CAGE TODAY CRYPTIC?.
GET OUT OF THE WRONG SIDE OF THE BED DID WE?
That's at least three posts of the same nature, and all about as much use as each other.
If people want to eat Indian style curries, "like those in Curry mile" I am just giving them the information that they can either use or disregard .... it's up to them . There's no phone number, e-mail address or advert here, just info.
If, and only If, someone wants extra information, I will gladly give it to them ...... In a PM.
Now do us all a very big favour, and go back to bed, and try to get out the other side tomorrow

I make the world's best chicken biriani, lentil soup, stir-fried potato-cauliflower, and khichri. What is khichri? My Italian firends call it Indian style risotto but without the heavy creams. Since I am of the Indian ethnicity, you can use my photo for marketing.

Re: no indian restaurant in udon
Yes erik you certainly did..!!...BUT you have to be English(Not Talking about Language) and a lover of Indian food or a regular in a based'Indian' Resturant to understand what we mean.erik1 wrote:Did I really read authentic english indian food?????????????
Re: no indian restaurant in udon
I second that bm.
The quality, variety and taste of Indian food in England is the best Indian food in the world (imo).
Having spent a month travelling round India I found the food generally of a much lesser quality...to my surprise.
There is nothing like the curry you get back home...the authentic English/Indian curry that is.
Oh how I yearn for it...

Agree with you Nick in that its difficult to find "our type" of Indian food in India, it can be found, but you have to be in the know.
I personally think the best Indian food is to be found in Singapore and Malaysia, never been disappointed there, but have been many times in Thailand.
One I liked, was the Red Chili in Sukumvit soi 20, Indian owned but run by a very fat Brit.

Re: no indian restaurant in udon
my tip if you want indian food buy a standard panang curry and rice from the night market drive to nong khai and let the rice soak in the mekong for 15 min while asking a random passing thai man to spit in the curry mix ...ok then add contents back to the plate and enjoy
who in their mind would want a indian when the food here surpasses most of the Cuisines in the world 10 fold

If you wan't to "wind people up" you will probably have more success if you are "Slightly" less obviousREAD-THIS wrote:my tip if you want indian food buy a standard panang curry and rice from the night market drive to nong khai and let the rice soak in the mekong for 15 min while asking a random passing thai man to spit in the curry mix ...ok then add contents back to the plate and enjoy

Re: no indian restaurant in udon
It is called variety, a necessity in order not to become bored with any particular style of cooking. If you do not like Indian food than this is your choice, but to believe that any type of cuisine is 10 times better than others shows either a very strange outlook on life or a lack of experience/experimentation in different world cuisines.READ-THIS wrote: who in their mind would want a indian when the food here surpasses most of the Cuisines in the world 10 fold
Re: no indian restaurant in udon
I found a simple solution to the problem of Indian food a few years ago, even though I live in Oz I bought an Indian recipe book and gave it to my wife, and I can tell you a Thai can certainly do justice to her interpretation of a Curry
