It wasn't actually though it would have been more varied if a few farang had turned up, stick to writing about something you know about please,or put your pathetic attempts at humour in the joke forum, this is a serious topic.
Oh it's ok you sitting on your high horse as you've donated blood but having a dig at there not being farangs donating.1 a good few of us around here have medical conditions,2 there isn't many of us here.3 not all farang even know about when and where to give blood.also some might be offended giving blood and if ever needing blood having to buy it back.
Let me quite clear here. The blood donation scheme is run by the Thai Red Cross in conjunction with the govt hospitals, all donors receive is a drink and a biscuit after donating to help their bodies to recover and whilst the Red Cross controls its distribution after ,there is no charge made for it, it is always free at govt hospitals anyway, I cannot say what happens at private establishments but if their source is the Red Cross they certainly don't buy it .
I am aware that many of the farang population are elderly and unable to donate and also others have medical conditions that preclude them from doing so but think about it, they are the ones most likely to need it which is why those that are fit enough to donate are the ones most wanted , which is why I posted in advance of the donation date and will continue to do so.

Maybe we should all have a shave and get suited and booted to go down the corner.too easy to judge us.most worked hard all their lives and many suffer from conditions including,Sven prostrate cancer,2 heart conditions,2 serious diabetics,1 liver disorder,1 got his dad's god knows how old kidney 1 having big shots of painkiller over the hospital every few days.really we should have our own ward but instead choose to meet up have a beer and socialise.every one to their own.its a bit like sticking you head in a hospital ward and slagging them off for looking ill.ok some have a drink problem but you can't tar everyone with the same brush.anyway the next time the blood donations are in town maybe one of you could get permission from the wife to inform us of when and where.we can at least take our wives down to donate.

So this brings up another subject, where do the private hospitals get their blood from?

3 wives to be exact Oi who has to look after her husband as his legs have gone,he was a postman all his life,Sven who's currently in Sweden having treatment for prostrate cancer and needs care, worked off shore all his life and my wife who up until a couple of weeks ago couldn't ride a scooter so had to come with me.to me your just making narrow minded judgements.just spoke to the German and said about donating blood.he pulled up his trouser leg and showed me most of his calf missing and said he had a parrasite infection and can't.i can't understand why you knock all these people or is it they have to all sit there in wheel chairs before you acknowledge they are suffering with various disabilities and if you sit drinking a beer and enjoying you life your just making excuses for not donating blood.ill let you have the last word as I'm getting bored of you now.

As most farangs in Udon area are over 60, very few can donate. I tried 4 years ago and was declined as was 60.

Well to get topic back to some news. For those living in Nong Wai, Nong Or and a few other local villages, can't list them all, this Friday 8th Sept there will be extensive long electricity outages from 9am till 4pm. Amphoe and Tessa Bahn will be open but unable to process anything involving their computers, which is almost everything, so don't waste your time going .Guess a good day to pop into town .

Yes 15years ago when I first moved here I did consider getting a generator as the cuts were fairly frequent, but things have improved over the years and now we don't have many, although we are still vulnerable to the odd one or two when someone crashes into a power pole and brings it down .Currently my security is battery backed up but my other appliances I switch off at the main as when they do work like this in my experience they often put the power back on in flashes before reconnecting completely and this doesn't do things like my air conditioners and fridge/ freezers any good .

If I remember you said you live in Non Wau So, not Nong Wai .Mine certainly went off , annoyingly at 8.10, before the scheduled time and before I could get a shower and shave, ended up like a boy scout tipping water out of the rain bucket over my head.

Actually live in Nong Or, left the house just before 9am and returned around 1pm no power outage.
Do appreciate the heads up though, seriously.......better to be prepared for this stuff and a run into town for stuff isn't a bad thing.

We don't live in Nongwausor, but we're close enough that we go to the market there a few times a week. My wife says their prices are better than most any other market around, certainly much cheaper than city market prices.
And just down the main highway about 500meters is the Nongwausor Resort/coffee shop/restaurant. While my wife is shopping at the market, I'll call and order a take out of ginger pork......they cook it up the way I like it. By the time my wife is done at the market, we swing by the restaurant and my order is ready. Today, while there, I noticed three signs announcing a variety of biker activities.....one in Nov, another in Jan, and a third in Fed.
If you have youngun's, or just like seeing one of the area's nicest fish ponds, stop by the restaurant for a coffee or meal.

Amphoe Nong Wau So, a busy week for the girls this week. The government has donated 2,000 sets of shirts caps and scarfs to be given free to the many people that registered to volunteer to help with the big event later this month. They all had to be repacked in sets before being given out.Haven't seen the wife for two days.
