Interesting to see that Tesco results for the last 13 wk period show a drop in sales of 3.7%. [-X

Perhaps if they put items on the shelves their sales would increase :-"

I didn't know orange trees grew in the Netherlands. I guess that is why he was called William of Orange.

I love products that say no sugar. It has fructose which is a sugar. Unless they have been able to grow oranges without it.

The old horse meat scandal might have something to do with a drop in sales. More cash strapped Brits turning to the German discounters Lidl and Aldi, their prices knock Tesco for six.

Yes, this product does say no added sugar, but I have picked up similar products in the past only to find they have added artificial sweetener or some other sweetener which may not be technically "sugar" instead. The labeling is terrible and only serves to confuse the consumer.

I recently went to Tesco to buy a few things. When I went to pay one of the items was not recognized by the computer, so the clerk said I couldn't buy the item. OK apparently the cashiers are not trained to deal with a simple and common problem.

I returned again to the store and attempted to buy the same item. The item was still not in the computer. I went to the office to see if they could fix the problem. Again no one had a clue. They got the stock manager and created a new bar code. That did not work either. They were perplexed as what to do. Either they were not trained or Tesco has a poor system that can not handle non inventory sales. I gave them the exact amount for the item and left them to sort out their transaction.

Popped in yesterday Tesco Nong Khai T/Lights) , don't understand what the fuss is about, apart from Tescos moving location of goods ( a marketing ploy ) I found everything I wanted with no shortages.

So did I actually as I never buy Rice, Msg or for that matter fish sauce. Therefore those items I never look at nor source, but i do purchase one or two items that are purely Tescos own label and other stuff, all of which I might add, there was plentiful supply of.
We are forgetting are we not that recently there was an upset in the running of the country and there may well have been a supply glitch.

stattointhailand wrote:It was clearly obvious that when the old Tesco's got remodeled a few months ago, the number of items that they stocked went down alarmingly, but has anyone else noticed that they are continuing to decrease the choices available. I'm not sure if this is all part of a big plan to downsize, and thus force shoppers to use the New Tesco's near the airport, or if it is just that they have managed to take their inability to reorder/restock to a level way beyond even their past achievements.

I visited this morning with 30 items on my list (including several Tesco's own brand items, and all that have been purchased in that store within the last 12 months), and from the list I managed to buy 12.

EIGHTEEN out of 30 items were "out of stock" (60%)
I think that was covered in the first post KP

I believe that oranges naturally have all three kinds of sugar, -- glucose, fructose and sucrose.

Back in the palm tree fringed paradise of Udon Thani :-s after a few days break in Buriram and Surin and I noticed that Tesco Lotus Extra, off the Nong Khai road, has opened up a Santa Fe restaurant there,in my absence.
Certainly needed as there was really only KFC or MK in there since the Fuji restaurant closed.
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.
