Hello! I plan to buy a car in Bkk at drive it to Udon! My question: May I get a car insurance which I can pay for a period of 3 months? The idea behind is, I want to sell the car in Udon. Or do I need to pay a year in advance and wait for the refund? How can I drive it legally from Bkk to Udon? Regards Richard

Vehicle policies are normally for 12 months but should you sell the vehicle during the policy you can either cancel and ask for a refund or pass on the policy to the new owner - easiest to do and the new owner will need insurance in any case.

You can drive 'legally' on just the Government insurance but if you know about the vehicle before hand then the 1st Class policy can be arranged within a matter of an hour or two - just depends on geting all the info back from you.

Why insurance it? I will arrive in Bkk and plan a stay in Thailand for several months. To I rent a car is an option but I preferto buy one. I will sell it at the end of my trip. Thanks for all the answers Regards Richard
