Re: Pizza Hut returning to Udon
Geez would have spread out over 2 Km, Timmy would have been happy LOL
Im sure cash flow has dropped off since PH opened for PC
PH trying to establish a market share based on their name / reputation / different styles of presentations etc having been in BKK, Pattaya , Chiang Mai for a long time. ( Expat areas - wondering if this is why they chose Udon ? )
PC sitting back for how many years now, since the dispute ?? and hurting / bleeding customers and now needing to get out there in the public eye.
Im sure nationally PC have a plan to tackle this , but a motorcade and motorcycles lasts only a few minutes
Where the market attraction for the locals is solely in PRICING IMO.

Re: Pizza Hut returning to Udon
I much prefer sitting in PC, far better so well worth the little extra in cost.

PC is a restaurant , with full table service and much larger venues, with a takeaway option and home delivery.fatbob wrote:I much prefer sitting in PC, far better so well worth the little extra in cost.
PH IMO is a takeaway venue with approx 8 tables. All meals for in-house dining are served in takeaway form and seems like a confusing radius for home delivery.

Yeah I agree wazza, they serve you on cardboard and use throwaway cutlery in true takeaway style. That said I'd rather eat off of cardboard than eat PC pizza, the last time we went to the UD Town branch it was absolutely horrible although to be fair we do find it better in the Central Plaza branch, I don't know why they're different being the same company but we think they are. If the PH branch is turning business away they must be doing very well and my guess is a second branch will open soon.

Re: Pizza Hut returning to Udon
You guys eat far to much pizza. I would guess your cardiologist would be shocked.
Especially to be promoting either of the 2 main players and saying one is better than the other.
Many smaller local or falang pizza guys who would cover your pizza and cook exactly what you want.
Lets be honest the only thing essentially needed for eating any pizza is that the beer must be cold. The rest is just an add on to usually an average culinary experience.

Re: Pizza Hut returning to Udon
MIssion 2-pack of thin pizza bases = 99 baht
Brook Arabiata or Napolitan pasta sauce = 48 baht
TGM sliced pepperoni sausage = 110 baht
Handful of shredded cheddar cheese.
Handful of grated parmesan cheese.
Sprinkle of McCormick's Italian seasoning
15 minutes in the oven @ 425 degrees F / 220 degrees C or gas mark 7
Works out at less than 130 baht/pizza.... DIY.
I would have taken a picture but they got eaten very quickly.

Re: Pizza Hut returning to Udon
Oh no!!!!
Now we have 2 more places with the best pizzas in UT.
I prefer to buy Lebonese bread instead of the pizza bases to make the best pizza in UT.
Tomato paste, a brush of crushed garlic, onion, capsicum, tomatoes, what ever deli meat is available, or chopped chicken, pineapple, a generous handfull of mozzarella, maybe some avocado, serve with a splash of Tabasco and 4 very cold Chang longnecks and that's it.

I recommended the best pizza place in Chicago, where I have gone with my wife.

just not very " handy " if you live in udon ....Guidolin wrote:I recommended the best pizza place in Chicago, where I have gone with my wife.
or do they deliver ???
Re: Pizza Hut returning to Udon
Stopped in on a Saturday at 11:15AM. No line and plenty of tables. Good service and food was brought to the table quick enough. Seafood Supreme, large pan, extra cheese, and an order of garlic bread sticks and two bottles of water.
My wife liked the pizza, but for me the sauce was too sweet.....very much as I remember Pizza Co a long time ago on our last visit.

Re: Pizza Hut returning to Udon
Almost a year since anyone posted any comments on Pizza Hut?
That bad?
I am not a Pizza Hut fan, never have been and that includes while I lived in the US. But yesterday, I saw the sidewalk banners down UD Town for their new 'Black Bacon & Sour Cream' pizza. Googling indicates that the pizza base is that black bread affectation, usually tastes OK just looks odd. I like bacon and I like sour cream but before I fork out 199 baht, has anyone tried it yet?
They also have a Black Bacon Korean but if that involves kimchi, then they should be reported to the World Pizza Council. I guess anyone who reckons chicken tom yum is a good pizza topping has no hope of redemption.

Re: Pizza Hut returning to Udon
I'm a long, long way beyond redemption and I must confess I quite like the Tom Yum pizza but not as much as I like the Pad Grapow pizza available at Le Gallery! Just of late though we've decided we're going to make our own bases, we used Makro ones and they're okay...ish but everyone says home made is better so we'll give it a go.
