Written Australian English compared to American English...

Post by Mudguard » February 12, 2017, 8:08 am

I have noticed over the last 2 years the written English is not something one wants to learn from by reading
"The News from Australia" on the net..

Look at the following from today's news.com.au reporting...

STRANDED passengers on-board the Norwegian Star have to spoken about the selfless acts of kindness shown by crew members aboard the stricken vessel.............Preposition TO should not be there...

How, pray tell, can anyone learning English, get it right from reading Australian news.com.au?
They have misplaced verbs, prepositions, past and present tense wrong nearly everyday. No exaggeration.

As an Australian, I think it's a bloody disgrace in this day and age to show the World we cannot write properly...

I have been doing a lot of reading from the American news, and yet to find a mistake...Of course I don't read everything..

Is the News.com.au team employing non-English proof readers?

Is the news about news or a grammar test in disguise.
