Quality chainsaw
Re: Quality chainsaw
While in the US over Christmas holidays, we bought our daughter/son-in-law a Ryobi 40v blower/weedwacker/hedgetrimmer set. A single battery plus charger was included. It cost about $360 at Home Depot. At the time, there were no other companies offering 40v systems....most were still 24v. Before we left, I tried out the blower and weedwacker as was impressed with the power. Don't know about lifespan of such a system......but having the power and freedom from wires/gas would be nice to have.
Re: Quality chainsaw
I emailed our son-in-law last night.......he responded.....saying he gets about 20 minutes of good use out of the blower with a freshly charged 40v battery. But then the power drops right off.
Re: Quality chainsaw
The claim is that the 40 volt Greenworks chain saw will cut a cord of firewood before the battery dies. That sounds a little optimistic to me. They also say that it will do 100 cuts but they don't say how big the cuts are. My small wife has her heart set on that saw regardless of how long the battery lasts mainly because she saw a lady in a review using one. The one from AliExpress has a 16 inch bar. I emailed the seller and asked him if I could get one with a 10 inch bar. He is checking and thinks that is possible. The Greenworks 40 volt on Lazada has a 10 inch bar and a note that it is exempt from needing a government permit.
Just a bit of information I read a detailed article about the Stihl saw. Apparently they get past the government regulations by claiming only .8 HP. The writer says the saw has over 2 HP and they get by using a restrictor plate. If you remove the muffler, you can easily remove the restrictor plate, put the muffler back on and the saw will be back to full power.
Has anyone done that?
