I a no way shape or form belittling what happened to the unfortunate foreign victims mentioned on this thread. Here in graphic, very graphic detail are the circumstances in the murder of a woman in the UK by two female teenage pond life retards. I've seen numerous murder victim's, but I believe, had I entered this scene I would be extremely shocked. This is currently an ongoing trial in England. What the victim went through must have been horrendous. If found guilty, as they are teenagers they won't get what they deserve. How cruel can 'human's' be sometimes. As I said this is very graphic so each individual can choose to read it or not.

At least in the past. Interviewing those that had moved yielded the result, that living in Udon with its 3 international hospitals and less traffic congestions would be "safer than in Pattaya".
In those times Udon did not yet have these high rising Condos from which quite a few farangs tried to fly home directly.

Back in October, I was rushed by wife to AEK Udon at 3:30AM. I was having a heart attack. I was given IV's but they couldn't stop it. they don't have cardiology there. I was left in severe pain while nurses played candy crush (no joke). FINALLY got a doctor about 5AM. She said when I can clear my bill there, and put 200,000 baht down I can be transferred to another hospital. - I needed it now -. My wife ended up having to wait till the bank opened to get the money. No lie was having a heart attack - for HOURS!

Once she paid I was transferred in ambulance to bangkok hospital and had heart surgery within minutes of arriving. (about 5 hours after I first arrived at a hospital having a heart attack).

200,000 didn't even come close to covering it. I think bill was 585,000. but I forget. But happy to survive. I thought I was going to die due to having gone to AEK. I think paid 40,000 baht to them, for the privilege of keeping my hostage while i was trying to stay alive. Years earlier I had very bad ongoing experience with their dental department too.

While I have posted about my experience and in no-way am I about to state categorically that the medical expertise at AEK is in doubt the ethics of that hospital to patients is at best doubtful to the extent that some years ago they increased the daily rate by 500 baht a day to cover nurses on duty. This meant technically that I had to raise by BUPA coverage to cover the room cost. The two occasions I used AEK Udon medically I was satisfied , after a minor hiccup over my broken jaw, but I came to the realisation that is was a large white elephant regarding patient care a CASH COW in other words.
So I came to conclusion that in fact there are better Hospitals around Wattana, Military Hospital to name a couple.
Plus in all honesty many specialised doctors not only have their own clinics but also flit from one hospital to another , seeking the best fees from different hospitals, sad to say but you could see a doctor in the general hospital and pay 100 per cent more to see the same doctor in a private hospital ...go figure.
So it is of no surprise that the stories of demanding money before treatment are now circulating , reminds me of the States where people were left in corridors while payment was sought....not so common now I believe.
In fact in some cases even dying was getting expensive too, now they will not release the body until payment is paid or at least partially paid. What a situation , dying broke is not fair to your family it seems as well.

I'm sure it is very easy to guess  It may very well be the suspected hospital, but guesses are just that and are often wrong. - and, it seems, often correct! ;)

I'm glad one person has a bit of reading comprehension. No hospital refused life saving service. :-s - Your second sentence clearly demonstrates you are not referring to yourself, in your first sentence! :-k :?

The second quote above, along with your remark, clearly demonstrates they weren't talking about you :D

I think we can put the hospital to bed now, any news leaking out on the gang that committed the attack or as suspected has it been hushed up in the local media.

I don't have the impression this has been hushed up yet. The criminal justice system consequences will be interesting. I take it that more than a few posters foresee a slap with a wet bus ticket.

I suspect in many, if not all countries, crims target the elderly. In my country (New Zealand), they also target Asian women. There's a suspicion Asians are more likely to be carrying considerable cash, they're less likely to fight back and the sentence for bashing or killing an immigrant or non-white person is less. The crims in Thailand probably look at elderly farang in a similar way.
