expect mats prediction when and only when he knows EXACTLY who is in every squad and what their form is during the pre tourney friendlies.
To me. the standout team, (squad) is obviously BELGIUM; although I DON'T expect them to win!!!
. Brazil would be my second choice. Given the venue, and political backdrop, I will be amazed if the event proves to be without at least one major controversy, adversely affecting a West European team, and pleasantly surprised, if a West European team is 'allowed' to win the cup.

Referencing Statts above comment, may I remind both he, and friend Zid, that, as expected, they both opted out of my challenge,( following their criticism of Southgate), to name THEIR choices for the English squad, AHEAD of Southgate's selection; such challenge to pre-empt their being able to 'second guess' him, AFTER he named his squad!

The second part of the challenge still remains to take up; if either of you fancy jumping off that fence, upon which you are perched.
From Southgate's squad, post YOUR suggested starting formation, starting eleven and the seven substitutes you would have on the bench, for England's first group match, BEFORE Southgate announces his selection.
I wish all three of you the best of luck in your endeavours, but most particularly Southgate. Honestly, with the exception of three, maybe even four, players, I wouldn't have the faintest idea of whom to pick from what I consider a somewhat mediocre squad of players.
) Rudiger will be knackered after a season playing the "Conte way" Neuer is showing plenty of signs that he is not the keeper he once was. Muller, Gotze, Kroos & Hummels are no where near their best, so unless there are half a dozen Wunderkids waiting in the wings it's Quater finals at best I think (unless they get England in last EIGHT)
