Needs to be trialed for at least 10 years (I won't have to worry about it) before they even consider it for Prem/championship matches. Only have to look at the chaos in Germany to see that its a poorly thought out idea. Even had VAR operators needing to be banned for bias
Perhaps I need to check further, because I believed the Bundesliga trials went ok. And Goodison wrote "I watched highlights of THE Bundesliga games where the VAR resulted in a few "goals" being disallowed. It really does work and sends the Punters home happy that the correct decision has been made albeit a tad belatedly."
Keys & Gray had a whole segment of their show (for two weeks running) talking to people in Germany who had seen it first hand and were far from impressed ....... they mostly wanted to get shot of it now at least until they get the system working a lot better.

I stand corrected. I guess if something's not designed well and performing as a well-oiled machine, the Germans are the ones to tell us - still? :-k

Just noticed the Newcastle v Leicester game is the 125th anniversary game. With lord knows what going on, off the field, perhaps my prediction of a toon victory was a bit premature :-k

Manchester Utd. 16.30. Manchester City.

During his usual attention grabbing pre-match garbage, The Mouth sarcastically stated "The City players are knocked over by the wind"
If that is the case, during the match, the City players will be well advised to avoid the pitch area in the vicinity of the Mouth, where by far the largest bag of wind is certain to be found! :-" \:D/

FULL-TIME

West Ham 1-0 Chelsea
The Hammers grabbed an early goal (& even that was against the run of play) & then hung on for dear life. But hang on they did & a fine defensive performance from them - which does not bode well for current England keeper, Joe Hart, who was on the bench..
6 yellow cards to the hosts to 1 to the visitors shows the game, but 3 vital points for West Ham & a chance to draw level with Man U lost for Chelsea .

The late match finished Newcastle 2 Leicester 3 which now means 6 defeats out of 7 for the Toon who are now just 2 points off the relegation places.
Two big,big wins for both Swansea and Huddersfield and if you look at the league table, teams from 10th to 20th could be said to be involved in a relegation battle.

West Ham v Chelsea was a great game for the neutral to watch.I never imagined the Hammers would hang on after going ahead early but they did and defended very well. Two misses for Chelsea with 5 minutes to go by Morata and Hazard cost the Londoners dear.On this showing West Ham,like Crystal Palace, look too good to go down which makes it a very interesting battle to avoid the drop.
Talking of Palace......another very entertaining game with Bournemouth and a draw probably a fair result. Two talking points on the game.....I didn't see a Bournemouth player make contact with Zaha for the first penalty and Benteke missing the injury time penalty when he wasn't the designated penalty taker and took it upon himself to take it.He missed and should face a big fine by the club for his actions but "Old Woy" is too much of a softie,I think.
Jermaine Defoe still lethal in front of goal for The Cherries at 35......

Tonight, get the beers in early for what could be a soccer feast......
7pm Thai : The hors d'oeuvres.....Southampton v Arsenal......Guest prediction,1-2,statto ;)
9.15pm Thai : The first of the main courses......The Merseyside derby.....I predict Liverpool 4 Everton 3 and Sam Allardyce resigns after the game due to ill health.
11.30pm Thai : The second NW "biggie"......The Manchester derby.....I predict United 1 City 3 but hope I am wrong.

Enjoy this evenings matches...... :D
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Yeah, entertaining stuff. A draw fair? - well, maybe, but again I thought Palace did more than enough and should have won it, particularly on the 2nd half showing. How anyone can argue Palace don't need another clinical striker or two to bury the chances created is beyond me. Just watched the video again and the player making contact with Zaha is the 'KEEPER. Even allowing for my red and blue glasses, Zaha at last got some reward for the literally tens of times refs gives nothing! If Bournemouth thought they were hard done by, they're conveniently forgetting the clear holding on Schlupp, which allowed Defoe freedom to score the first. There would, of course, have been no complaints had Benteke scored, but it was an awful penalty (think my grandmother might have done better!) and he has to face the criticism. He's on a barren run as it is and the patience of some fans is getting stretched. Almost certainly, a missed opportunity(tired of saying it) for two more points.
Will someone please shoot Jermaine Defoe, who always seems to do well against Palace.

After all the hype Super Sunday wasnt too bad ... DM so close to a big payout as i had a few quid on all the games to be 1-1 :(

SO i even smiled slightly when Everton got that very very dodgy penalty decision go their way and saved 747 a whole lot of forum pain (no way a pen IMO )... btw Sane should of sqaured it to Mo Salah n game over .. i dock his salry for that bit of greedyness

MAN CITY were all over UNITED like a rash and total domination n thoroughly deserved the win .

Nice one Jon. Esp. as Sane plays for Citeh! They were only down the East Lancs. Road.I'll give you Mane? I predicted 0-0 as I expected Sam to ensure the handbrake was applied to the Charabang. Remember them? thought the Saints outgunned the gooners. Charlie Austin to go to Russia?

Southampton took the lead in just 3 minutes against Arsenal and looked like hanging onto it until "supersub" Giroud grabbed the equaliser in the 88th minute.
Jurgen Klopp should be the Everton manager ??? Well,he was certainly more effective for them last night than Sam Allardyce.
1.He picked a Liverpool side that you would have expected if they were playing a struggling Championship side in the League Cup.....no Coutinho or Firmino etc.
2.He substituted his best player,Salah, when the score was 1-0.
3.Everytime I see Lovren play he looks like an accident waiting to happen......he didn't disappoint last night.
That said,if Liverpool had taken their chances either side of half time the penalty would have been irrelevant.
City won more comfortably against United than the scoreline suggests although if Edersen wouldn't have saved that shot from Lukaku with his face it would have given United an undeserved draw. All 3 goals were the result of poor defending by Young,Delph and Lukaku of all people !
City now 11 points clear.....the title surely is theres already.....even if they replaced Pep Guardiola with Kevin Keegan ! :D
