As for the word "Sh thole", its a word/noun in the Oxford Dictionary for Christ sake, used to convey/describe "An extremely dirty, shabby, or otherwise unpleasant place". Yes it may be considered by some as a vulgar form of slang, but then again so are words such as F.cK (or derivatives of it) and Bullsh..t - I dare say that 60% of the Adult world population, use these word every day and more than once, in everyday conversations.

So if we are all be politically correct in what we say and when/where we say it, then we need a new version of the "Oxford Dictionary"

The reason why you should frown upon it is simple. What happens when he calls Thailand a S.h.i.t.h.o.l.e. country?

You know the junta leader here won't tolerate it, and will simply kick Americans out of Thailand overnight. And it would go down in history as a stunning retort.

If we are calling places "what they really are", giving people immediate notice to leave USA, then it can happen to us overseas here in Thailand.

Then you'd have to buy pants, socks, and shoes, and pack up and go the fk "home", regardless of if you have anywhere to actually go when you step out of the airport. Nothing your Thai wife or kids could do about it.

Are you up for that? For many the answer would be "hell no!".

Out and out racism comes at a cost. Throw a few rocks, don't be surprised if a few bricks get thrown back. You might say "oh I'm not American". As a farang you'd be next when whichever right wing sht.talker gets elected..
