Good to be back.

Post by vlad » February 20, 2018, 11:40 am

Its been three years since I was in Udon I have been made to feel so welcome by Home @ Udon and id certainly recomend this hotel great reception nothing but help, on walkabout I have noticed a change specially on Soi Sampan ive noticed its a lot more busy. Bumped into Ardvark AND Greg last night good to have a chin wag and a night was arranged to have a beer or two.Hard getting used to the heat as it Snowed prior to my flight over but overall its great to be back. I was booked onto the later flight by Thai Smile and as a bonus and an apology was given a Tbt300 voucher so they redeemed themselves.

@Home Udon is nice isn’t it. The Boy wanted his own hotel last time so I booked him in there. Nice sitting on the balcony watching the world go by as we waited for Mrs N to stop fussing about picking up his clothes :D

Nice up to date and modern. Top Mansion is ok but now the years are showing its age, it needs modernising.

Three years is quite a while. I notice I get really excited (not like a teenager) when I'm on the plane and it starts to descend into Udon. I love those moments.

I couldn't get any reply to phone calls or emails from Top Mansion hence us booking him in @Home

You only allowed to sit on the wing if you have eaten at least 2 tins baked beans before take off :fart:

Viad, Nigglyb, & GT93:\
For your information, and that of other members, who might be interested.
Across the road & immediately opposite Nutty Park Entrance, are two new Hotels/Guesthouses. That to the right, ( as you face them), whilst reportedly comfortable, is more expensive than is @Home, and not as 'homely'. However the one to the left comes highly recommended by friends of mine, who now regularly book visiting friends into there. They tell me the rooms are comfortable, the rates are very reasonable , (cheaper than @Home), and there is the bonus of a rooftop coffee shop-cum-snack Bar, which they use regularly as a change from/alternative to, the Bar scene.

Welcome back.
Nothing could be further from the truth Viad.
I share John's sense of humour, and could see a funny side to his post. Like John, I feel the Pool League should be allowed its own thread, as with any other sport and both of us remain unhappy that, for some undisclosed reason, Paul will not allow it.
That was the context of my post, being intended as a private "in" joke between Statto and myself, which I am sure he understood, will be able to explain to you privately.
Enjoy your stay, and don't let John fool you; he has been practicing!
