Bad publicity

Post by tataw » April 11, 2018, 2:32 pm

An article about the unexplained deaths of British tourists (mainly students) in various locations but many in Koh Tao.

Very bad publicity for the Thai tourist industry and even if there is a modicum of truth then it reflects poorly on Thailand.

Brits have an uncanny ability to find death in places others avoid. Is it a lack of common sense brought about by an aggressive nanny state?

Or is it that Americans are too scared to leave the treadmill of work for more than a couple days lest they get fired, to risk getting one a them thar "passport" thingy's? Much less using it.

Or that Americans are all too aware of the reputation damage that years of George Bush's "World's Police" antics brought down on their prospects of having a nice vacation without getting attacked socially no matter where they sit?

I'm wondering how much electricity could be generated by everyone typing troll crap on keyboards. We need to harness it. Especially women scrolling on their mobile phones. Could power all of Russia.

Maybe because American youngsters have Mexico and the Caribbean within a couple of hours flight time instead of stupid hours flying for what???

^^ Though your insecurity is on full display, I notice you didn't address my question.
I don't quite see how this reflects poorly on Thailand.

no we do dumb things because we're British, we climb to the top of the greatest mountains with a couple of ropes, we walk to the south pole in just our underwear, we travel to the far reaches of the planet on a few planks of wood with some dried biscuits... do you think new York is named after somewhere in Mongolia . we go places and meet people, sometimes they throw spears and rocks at us. but hey all part of the adventure

That's odd. Typically, the story line is far less syrupy, involves drinking too much and making very poor decisions. Death follows like a putrid shadow.
