BMT to support Thailand’s project to develop midget submarines

UK engineering group BMT has won a contract from the Royal Thai Navy (RTN) to support its programme to design a midget submarine.

BMT said in a press release on 17 October that under the new contract – the value of which was not disclosed – it will provide assistance to the RTN during the design phase of the project.

The contract was signed in September and the work, which will be carried out from BMT’s offices in Bath, UK, is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2019.

never seen that many thai midgets anyway

new toy perhaps? They've got 3 Yuan class Chinese subs on order for either 36 billion for the lot or is it 36 billion for one?? Supposedly the Thai crew will train at the Chinese sub base on Hainan Island although I haven't seen any news on the purchase for a while..

but who is the enemy ?? going after the Tirpitz ?
