there appears to be some kind of brexit deal done

The UK is "significantly closer" to delivering on the result of the Brexit vote, Theresa May has told MPs.

The prime minister was speaking before a crunch cabinet meeting where she is seeking her senior ministers' backing for the UK and EU's draft agreement.

She told the Commons it would give the UK control of borders, laws and money - and also protect business and jobs.

But Jeremy Corbyn said the UK would be stuck in an "indefinite half-way house without any real say" over the rules.

Speaking at Prime Minister's Questions, the Labour leader said Mrs May was putting a "false choice" before Parliament between her "botched deal and no deal".

May has had to operate in the real world unlike many of the other British players.

But this doesn't look like Brexit at all to me. The political class seems very reluctant to pull the plug on the EU.

If it took hours of heated debate just to get her cabinet to approve , it sure as hell wont get through the house . If Bannier likes it which he appears to , although you cant really tell with him as he blows with the wind , then its obviously not in the U Ks interest either .
Brexits a catch 22 . Whats best for the U k is not accepted by Europe and visa versa . Just leave , how hard can it be ?
Too many politicians doing what they do best , cover their own political arse , instead of doing what the people want .
They forecast a hard brexit would reduce the U Ks GDP by 6% over four years . The financial crisis did worse than that !!! So bite the bullet for four years and reap the benefits of leaving for decades after that .
Why should we be held to ransom by a load of surrender monkeys ?

She's trying to sell NI down the river, the Scots are unhappy that she's capitulated on our fishing rights, she's given the ECJ 650 mentions in her "deal giving them jurisdiction over UK law", she's gone over to the enemy behind her MP's backs begging them to back her and below I paste a very significant and worrying clause, this "deal" isn't going to fly, my worry is they won't oust her before she calls a general election, it won't be the votes for Labour that will worry me it will be the people that don't vote that will.

Page 148 "Judgments and orders of the ECJ handed down before the end of the transition period, as well as such judgments and orders handed down after the end of the transition period ... shall have binding force in their entirety on and in the United Kingdom."

Theresa May has done the worst job of Brexit possible, she's lied to everyone and she needs to go no matter the outcome.

A complete and utter farce whether you are a Remainer or Brexiteer.

Opinion is that this deal wont get through Parliament. Then what? A 'no deal'. Will that get through Parliament?
Even a second vote to remain is unlikely to be passed by Parliament ending in a stalemate where everyone is pissed off.

May is in an impossible position surprised she hasn't walked already - but good for her at least she's trying when others just walked away easy to be a critic

Is this lot the best Britain can come up with? A dysfunctional, dystopian mob of blowhards who can't understand simple demands.

Dominic Raab has resigned as Brexit Secretary...surely this signals the end for Theresa May and her EU deal ?

What happens now? Maybe May stands down David Davis is installed as a temporary leader and instigates a Canada plus type of offer as the work is already been prepared ,but to be honest I think the Eurocrats are only willing to listen to anything that doesn’t involve leaving or breaking any of their project rules :D

yes it is indeed a complete mess caused by a remainer as a prime minister, we also know that May's wing man in line for Raab's job is also a remainer who will try and push May's plans through. We voted to leave Europe full stop. The rats as Giggle says at least had a back bone and jumped because they wanted to do what the country voted for.

Reality - the country was utterly divided at the referendum, and remains so. Trying to do Brexit is like making a silk purse out of a sow's ear, and May cannot sew. But Brexiteers always have a tantrum when they do not get their own way - but they are incapable of agreeing to any compromise, which makes negotiating a farce. Government has been totally dysfunctional. Time they put those lamp posts outside parliament to good use, but i do not think there are 650 in a nice row.

Coming to a head

Post by Giggle » November 18, 2018, 8:15 pm

A team of army planners has started drawing up emergency measures for deploying troops to respond to any chaos caused by the UK crashing out of the EU without a deal.

About 20 officers who normally oversee Operation Temperer, the plan to provide soldiers to help police following acts of terrorism, were ordered last week to step up no-deal Brexit planning, according to a well-placed army source.

They are focusing on how the military could help the police keep public order and on how medicines would be delivered to hospitals.
