If the previous version of KODI 17.6 was running in the past you could do a Windows 10 system restore back to the system date to when it was runnning

Windows Operating Systems are a resource hog and over time a lot of junk can accumulate.

1: I would begin by going back into the control panel and uninstall the program.

2: Then Download the free version CCleaner located at URL https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner
Install it and run the cleaner and the registry utilities.

3: Reboot your PC

4: Download and install a clean version of Kodi ( Kodi v17.6 "Krypton" ) located at this URL https://kodi.tv/download

I would recommend that you run Kodi with a VPN. You may experience latency issues with the free VPNs because of the load on the VPN server you are connected to.

Good Luck

Hi of-flyer
Many thanks
I’m doing a restore and hope that alleviates my problems
Is there a setting whereby you can select creating restore points on a regular automatic basis
Mine only works when any major update is done
Thanks again

Set this up. It will give you a way to go back if something goes bad.
You can follow these steps that will lead you to the System properties where you can do a Manual Restore point also.
Go to the Control Panel
Click on System and Security
Click on System
Click on System Properties
In system Properties under System Protection Select Configure.
Turn on system protection.
Click on apply.
Close Everything out and Reboot.

Hi pf-flyer
Did everything but chose Windows Store ( as I have 64bit pc) and got a gaming version which I think is connected to you tube
I re run it and selected Installer 32 bit and same version called KODI Super Mario
Any suggestions would be welcome and apologies for being a nuisance
