I'm a flat tax guy, myself. Seems fair to me. Imagine how much money we would save on the IRS if we eliminated everything:

1. How much did you make (including all income, -- employee income, interest, capital gains, etc.)?
2. Send us xx%.

Revised number for December employment figures
Recently posted

"Mildly disappointing: Employment gains from November and December were revised down by a total 70,000. November's was upgraded from 176,000 to 196,000 but December's blockbuster 312,000 was revised down to 222,000, which was still a strong showing."

That was the best SOTU address I've ever seen, he was faultless in its delivery, genuine in its content and passionate about the success of the USA.

A great performance by Potus, even bony ass Pelosi stood up and clapped a few times.

We agree again.

I'd be willing to go with Flat or Fair.

Flat being the same percentage for everyone across the board regardless of income.

Fair being a federal sales tax. You only pay tax on what you purchase.

We would save a fortune on either one and be able to eliminate X number of federal employees.

This can't be. I have been assured and re-assured in 100+ pages of this thread alone PDJT is a complete rube and failure.

I am not big on polls, but these respondents actually watched the SOTU speech.

The Washington Post may have sunk Lizzy Warren's political ship once and for all.

For me, the best part of the night. God Bless America.
Tonight we are also joined by Pittsburgh survivor Judah Samet. He arrived at the synagogue as the massacre began. But not only did Judah narrowly escape death last fall: more than seven decades ago, he narrowly survived the Nazi concentration camps. Today is Judah’s 81st birthday.

[Standing ovation, “Happy Birthday”]

They wouldn’t do that for me, Judah.

[Laughter]

Judah says he can still remember the exact moment, nearly 75 years ago, after 10 months in a concentration camp, when he and his family were put on a train, and told they were going to another camp. Suddenly the train screeched to a very strong halt. A soldier appeared. Judah’s family braced for the absolute worst. Then, his father cried out with joy: “It’s the Americans! It’s the Americans!”

[Standing ovation]

A second Holocaust survivor who is here tonight, Joshua Kaufman, was a prisoner at Dachau. He remembers watching through a hole in the wall of a cattle car as American soldiers rolled in with tanks. “To me,” Joshua recalls, “the American soldiers were proof that God exists, and they came down from the sky.” They came down from Heaven.

I began this evening by honoring three soldiers who fought on D-Day in the Second World War. One of them was Herman Zeitchick. But there is more to Herman’s story. A year after he stormed the Beaches of Normandy, Herman was one of the American Soldiers who helped liberate Dachau.

[Standing ovation; salute from Kaufman]

He was one of the Americans who helped rescue Joshua from that hell on earth. Almost 75 years later, Herman and Joshua are both together in the gallery tonight — seated side-by-side, here in the home of American Freedom. Herman and Joshua: your presence this evening is very much appreciated. Thank you very much.

[Standing ovation]
May God Bless these men.

And may we call on God to Bless those that turned away those countries like Cuba, USA and Canada turned away in 1939 the Jews who need asylum but a number ended up in Concentration Camps

St. Louis was a German ocean liner known for carrying more than 900 Jewish refugees from Germany in 1939. Originally intending to debark in Cuba, they were denied permission to land. The captain, Gustav Schröder, went to the United States and Canada, trying to find a nation to take them in, but both refused. He finally returned the ship to Europe, where various European countries, including Belgium, the Netherlands, the UK, and France, accepted some refugees. Many were later caught in Nazi roundups of Jews in occupied countries, and historians have estimated that approximately a quarter of them died in death camps during World War II.[2] These events, known as the "Voyage of the Damned" in one account, have inspired film, opera, and fiction.

FDR made a terrible and cowardly decision to turn them away.

May God Bless them all.

And the detractors still refuse to give him credit, pitiful, I said from the very beginning he was exactly what the US needed and this is being proven by the shovel load time after time with financial results, employment, let's not forget his ability to broker the release of political prisoners and strike deals with countries like North Korea, the man deserves a Nobel peace prize, he'll go down in history as a great President I'm sure.

I wish my PM was half as honest and a quarter as strong as POTUS.
