I was under the impression that Electricity prices rose by approx 12% last month .Or was it just my bill ?
They certainly went up in January this year, the effective rise in my bill is 1.7%

Old cost 3,178.87 actual bill 3,212.99

So your 12% is you using more power.
My electric bill from May 2014 3380 Baht for 715kwh
electric bill from May 2019 3120 Baht for 721kwh
Same meter

I will guess that it went up, but maybe 1.2%

from last year to this year used about the same and maybe cost went up about 20฿

What i do know is my May bill was charged at 4.19 baht a unit , compared to Aprils bill which equated to 3.80 per unit .
Thats an increase of .39 per unit , which may not be 12% but its over 10 % .
Thats before all the add on and take away stuff they do . Its purely the unit increase .
So am i the only one getting his pants pulled down?

I might be missing something, but that bill tracks with the standard rate that's been in effect for a few years (as I mentioned above)
https://www.mea.or.th/en/aboutelectric/116/280/form/11
The rate charged for your 400-771kwh is 4.42/kwh
The rate charged for your 151-400kwh is 4.22/kwh

Your overall bill went up (per kwh) because you used a higher amount of electricity and you're charged more for higher amounts (over 400kwh).

Yes that is the average (4.12) for the 771 Units, if you take the TB 3183.18 divided by the 771 Unit.

It works out to an average of TB 4.274 per consumption unit for the other Soi at the front of the House

So it seems to be in the normal cost range per Consumption Unit for the area

How far (as the crow flys) are you away from me

Yep, just have to cut back on using the A/C so much. The Air Conditioners units (two of them) fed by this supply side are not Inverters. They were cheapy Mitsubishi ECO Mr Slims. Most of the lighting on this supply side is LED

From what I have read, the appliances that chew up the most energy in ones home, are
Air Conditioners: Have two running of this Supply
Water Heater: Only have a small one running of this Supply, part of the time
Washer & Dryer: Dont have either of them on this Supply
Lighting: Mostly LED, so shouldn't chew up too much
Electric Ovens: Dont have one on this Supply

The to a lesser usage extent
Ceiling Fan: Have two on this Supply
Refridgerators: Have two on this Supply
TV: Have two onthis Supply
Computers: Dont have one on this Supply

So my most likely Culprit, is the overuse of the Air Conditioners

Although it seems to make virtually no difference in the bill, probably because of the quite high consumption your example uses the wrong tarrif. You are using 1.1 and it should be 1.2

The unit price did not change between April and May, in fact it has not changed since January
The first 150 units cost 3.2484 per unit
The next 250 units cost 4.2218 per unit
Oveer 400 units the cost is 4.4217 per unit
IMG_7548-2.jpeg
So no it's not an increase of 39 stang per unit. Your average cost per unit went up by 39 stang because your consumption went up. Had you used the same number of units your bill would not have changed. Had you used less the average cost per unit would have gone down.
In April you used more than 150 units (probably a little under 400)
in May you used quite a bit more, something over 600 units.

So no, the PEA is doing nothing to your pants. :-"

As a matter of interest and just to check my prediction how accurate was my guess of your units used in April and May?

One of my Thai neighbors explained to me that Laos has increased the price per kw they are charging Thailand and that's the reason our electricity went up. Anyone else heard that?

I think your math was wrong as your charge with those numbers never got down to 3.80 Baht per unit. To get down to 3.80 per unit you would have had to use only 350 units.

Average costs per unit should have been (excluding all other charges) and total bill

May 1017. Units = 4.198 per unit ฿4,484
April 943. Units = 4.181 per unit ฿4,143
March 740. Units = 4.116 per unit ฿3,208
Feb 473. Units = 3.943 per unit ฿1,978
