Premier League 2017-18
Re: Premier League 2017-18
I'm surprised Southampton didn't sack Pelligrino a couple of months ago as he seemed hopelessly out of his depth.....but it could be too late to save The Saints.....rumour is that Glen Hoddle could take over to the end of the season.
Michael Carrick to retire at the end of the season aged 36.No real surprise as he has only played 4 times this season and was treated for an irregular heart rhythm. He joined from The Spuds in 2006 and has made 463 appearances for United and has 34 England caps.Good luck to him for the future.

Re: Premier League 2017-18
Question:- Who were Tony Pulis's last 3 Premier Lge clubs?
Question:- Who are the 3 teams currently in the relegation zone in the Prem Lge?
Coincidence?

Re: Premier League 2017-18
The Reality! :-"
Utd. 2 Liverpool 1.
Other than Utd players accidentally straying into the Liverpool half , nothing of any note during the first 20 minutes or so.
Then, totally unexpectedly, Rashford scored two stunning individual goals =D>
The Mouth immediately displayed his tactical genius by changing his team's formation to 1-5-5, and making it clear that, under absolutely no circumstances, was any Utd player permitted to venture outside the Utd defensive half. The consequences and intent being to reduce the 'playing' area of the pitch to half size, & into which would be crammed no less than 18 players, (the 11 Utd team members, plus at least 7 Liverpool), not to mention the poor referee trying to keep clear of the resulting shambles.
So, from about the 60th minute, the result was never in doubt; that, other than with the aid of a miracle, Liverpool were never going to score; that Utd were assured of securing the runners up spot, in the EPL and that any future match in which Utd score first, fans should either leave the ground or turn off the TV, because The Mouth will assuredly revert to this same tactic; which is merely a more extreme extension of the ONLY tactic he has adopted throughout his career..
Finally, doubtless the Utd fans will be grateful to The Mouth for his help in ensuring the club cannot any longer be numbered among those considered to achieve success whilst, at the same time, playing with style and panache. On the contrary, The Mouth will take great pride in, and accept as a personal compliment, the new name by which his team is increasingly referred, and which fairly describes it's general performances, under his management, namely "The Unwatchables"

Re: Premier League 2017-18
Take it many forum members happy they've decided to settle in LOS after watching many of the games played in the UK yesterday. Blizzards, snow and sleet were the order of the day up and down the country, seems Huddersfield and "The Potteries" got the worst of the weather, be glad of the International Break no doubt.

Re: Premier League 2017-18
Liverpool 5 Watford 0.
Watford totally destroyed in dazzling display by four goal Salah, who has now scored 36 goals in this, his debut season; a new Liverpool record. =D> He is probably now assured of ending up as the season's golden boots winner.
With in form Liverpool now back into third place, and seven points ahead of fifth placed Chelsea, the battle for the fourth Champions League spot looks now to be between Chelsea & Spurs. Which situation promises an exciting match, in next week's face off between the two, given that both managers like their teams to play football, the way it should be played! :-"

Crystal Palace took a big step to ensuring safety last night, with Zaha back in the team and man of the match, but it looks grim for West Brom and difficult for Stoke now.....3rd relegation spot between Southampton,West Ham and Huddersfield ??
Everton safe now on 40 points....Big Sams done his job.

Re: Premier League 2017-18
I agree Zid, it does appear that WBA & Stoke are doomed. No surprise that the Palace & Everton Managers have, yet again, successfully completed the tasks for which they were employed; and I still believe the much maligned David Moyes will do the same for WHU, albeit only by the skin of his teeth. =D>Zidane wrote: ↑March 18, 2018, 11:04 amCrystal Palace took a big step to ensuring safety last night, with Zaha back in the team and man of the match, but it looks grim for West Brom and difficult for Stoke now.....3rd relegation spot between Southampton,West Ham and Huddersfield ?? Therefore it would APPEAR the candidate for the 3rd relegation spot, rests only between Southampton & Huddersfield. But not that simple when looking at Brighton's remaining fixtures, and consider the number of points that club is likely to garner from these final games:
CITY.A; Leicester.H; Huddersfield.H; Palace.A; SPURS.H; Burnley.A; UTD.H; and LIVERPOOL.A; [-o<
So, by my calculation, it is essential Brighton at least beat Huddersfield, and pick up an unlikely point either from Palace or Leicester to be safe.
