Agree to a point magpie, but as Jose is now finding, the game moves on and if you dont move with it you get left behind ....... in Wengers case WELL BEHIND.
A true gentleman that should have called it a day 6 - 7 seasons ago. Instead of being remembered as the man who built Arsenal he will now be remembered as the man who destroyed it

I do hope that Arsenal do go on to win the Europa League for Wenger.
A great manager in his day but,really,he should have called it a day at least 5 years ago.
His legacy is tarnished because Arsenal were always thought of as a top 2 side but they have slowly drifted away and are now only a top 6.
If Wenger would have stayed on its possible they could be just top 10 in a couple of years time.
I thought it would have been curtains for him after they were thrashed 10-2 on aggregate by Bayern Munich last season.
But good luck to the guy......wouldnt surprise me if he stayed in football management......Everton ??

I think that he will be greatly missed by the Gunners.

I have thought, for at least 2 years, that he should go - not because he is a bad manager but because he has been a lone exponent of book balanced football in the EPL.
It was a policy doomed to failure as others were chucking the kitchen sink full of cash for the same result at the same time.
The dual owners will have to overcome their huge differences & be willing to suddenly go from profit to investment if a new manager is going to make Arsenal competitive with the other top clubs again.

Farewell Arsene & goodluck, your exit from London will cost the club dearly as they have done nothing to prepare for it although it was a short term certainty..

Always like Mr Wenger and really hope he retires completely and not be lured onto another footballing managerial position at a lesser club like Everton , Leeds or Grimesby ...lots of his past players overflowing with fond remarks n farewells Berkamp , Van Persie , Over mars , Henry , Parlour , the list is endless of top pros who loved the guy ...even Paul Merson sobered up long enough to comment ..

Now just who the Gunners will get to replace the aging Arsene is the question , IMO gotta go with young blood ...latest makes grim reading for Gunners fans as Rodgers favourite Benitez , maybe Burnely need to watch mr Dyce in the close season ??? or Graham Alexander ...

OR they could save the effort of doing the job twice and just appoint Tony Pulis, Big Sam or Sparky now to keep them up ........ with their defense and the clubs inability to recruit even half descent players anymore it wouldn't be a great surprise to see them well short of mid table next season :-&

Should also finally see the end of Wiltshire & Ozil, as no half decent manager will put up with the lazy bas*ards

If what has happened at other clubs in the past after a long term manager has gone then his replacement will be lucky to see out a season...
It is who replaces the replacement that is important, not the cannon fodder that replaces Mr. W...

The only real exitement was whether Zaha could improve on his 5.6 score (I personally think the first half attempt was more of a 5.8 than the one her finally got carded for.
Agree that Watford "bossed" the first half with Pereyra easily the best player on the park. When he picked up his injury it seemed to give palace a lift and knock the stuffing out of Watford although both sides seemed prepared to show some fight with the only thing missing being the boxing gloves.

WBA again showed there are still good players there when they are allowed to play to their strengths instead of to Pardews ideas
