I wouldn't say it was boring, because of the lack of goals. But I will admit Palace was totally out-muscled, out- skilled and dominated by Watford first half to the point of embarrassment. As is often the case in games, Palace turned it round second half and, I thought, had the better of it. A difficult game to referee!

Have to say that as a "neutral" I have to agree with 747
The only real exitement was whether Zaha could improve on his 5.6 score (I personally think the first half attempt was more of a 5.8 than the one her finally got carded for.
Agree that Watford "bossed" the first half with Pereyra easily the best player on the park. When he picked up his injury it seemed to give palace a lift and knock the stuffing out of Watford although both sides seemed prepared to show some fight with the only thing missing being the boxing gloves.
WBA again showed there are still good players there when they are allowed to play to their strengths instead of to Pardews ideas
Must say I'm p*ssed of with klipperty ...... 63 mins and he prepares Bobby Firmino and the OX to come on and I'm thinking ......... great Salahs only got 2 + 1 fantasy points and he's going to be rested for the CL match (only the second time I can remember Salah not doing major damage to my fantasy team) then the bl**dy idiot leaves him on risking him getting injured and the little hieroglyph hieroglyph hieroglyph hieroglyph went and scored again

Re: Premier League 2017-18
That's what a forum's for, isn't it, opinions, preferably sensible. The Palace game was hardly a classic (but then I've tuned into many of the big boy matches only to be disappointed), more an aggressive struggle. But the woodwork hit three times, several penalty claims, confrontations, some nasty challenges, some excellent individual performances, the result in doubt till the end, some calm refereeing if perhaps he wasn't 100% correct, made it, for me, watchable.
I do like listening to Hodgson, who appears to be fair and honest and such a contrast to some managers, who are very difficult to understand what they're on about. So to the Zaha debate. Hodgson is adamant Zaha doesn't dive, he's not that kind of player. I agree that I couldn't see anything to warrant a penalty in that first half challenge, but the commentators and Hodgson thought the second half challenge WAS a penalty - and Zaha got booked for that. Perhaps he'll appeal the booking? But one has to admit, when he's on fire, he can leave two, even three players puzzled.

Just to add, Zaha quoted on BBC.........
"What was funny was after the game - even though it makes no difference - was that he [Mariappa] has actually gone: 'I'll be honest, Wilf, it was actually a pen.'

My intention was reference to the help provided by the local council to West Ham! But some times we misunderstand or get things wrong. Like Zaha 'diving', whilst posts I've read have comments by presenters and even a Watford player that it was a stonewall penalty 2nd half and therefore, the ref's booking Zaha was wrong. Watford are still pissed that Palace beat them deservedly in a play off game.stattointhailand wrote: ↑April 23, 2018, 3:17 pmNo problems Brian, they have a safety net .......... bullsh*t ...... without doubt a dive ........ he'd already done the double somersault and twist BEFORE the tackle was made. You know as well as I do that you can't trust anything a Watford player says .... if they had half a brain cell they wouldn't be playing for Watford:lol:
