The signing up is not binding, it is only used to give the insurance brokers an estimate of how many people could be interested.

I think this is a good deal especially for those whose age and preexting conditions stops them from getting a good medical cover.

I think this would be a great idea. Something like this should have been started years ago.

So, I don't see this link you are referring to anywhere on this topic.

Being the devil's advocate here, this appears to be nothing more than a marketing scheme to get the names of people that are interested in health insurance, then someone will call you and try to sell you a policy from one of the companies which they represent. The prospect of creating a new Affordable Thai Health Insurance is just a carrot and will never be a reality. The date on the Home Page for this broker is October 1, 2013, so this scheme has already been ongoing for nearly 5 years and there has been no announcement of the implementation of such a program. I would go so far as to say that there is probably no real "office front" in the condo location indicated in the Contact Us section, and it's probably one person working out of his apartment securing leads and nothing more. This is pretty common place in marketing circles. Many insurance companies will pay good commissions for a solid pre-qualified lead.

The devil is always in the details. If you'll read the #8 bullet point under Optional Major Medical Cover you will see this: Medical underwriting will exclude certain PRE-EXISTING medical conditions. This is nothing more than the standard "catch all" that all Thai insurance companies use to deny a policy for a marginal applicant, and if you have so much as elevated blood pressure or bad cholesterol readings you will be disqualified. They are only looking for relatively healthy individuals that represent potential profit for the insurance company and they could care less about us older guys that would be a near guaranteed loss for them. Bottom line is don't be fooled by this. It's probably nothing more than a "slight of hand" "switch and bait". Nothing in Thailand is ever as it appears to be. This is just my opinion of course!

Why would you bother with health insurance if it puts you in a Thai Government hospital.

I have a few concerns also, does seem almost too good to be true.

Read #15 on the main page.

Does that mean people are excluded from hip/knee replacements?
