Um has an auto correct for members of the Royal Family etc, so nothing can be posted that causes editorial attention to them.

Fully understood

if i write it straight it wont work ,
Hoopoe, I'm glad you're doing better now and the costs were much lower than expected. It would be nice to know who to contact if one had to see a doctor or in case of an emergency. The campus looks so large and spread out, and I wouldn't have a clue where to go if I needed to get there in a hurry. Can you provide us with names, numbers or point out the exact location of the facility you used? You can left double click on the image to increase the size.
Ok ,the hospital is on the right hand side of the road going south bound, main rd number 2 ,as you pull in, the emergency entrance is over to the right , get to the first roundabout and go all the way round it you will see the emergency entrance
up the ramp , it's easy to find ,just as an after note , iv'e been in quite a few hospitals here in Thailand over the years ,this beats them all ,

The hospital is located right off the Highway no 2 . Before the university main campus.
On your left hand side coming from UDON... See picture..
TO ACCESS THE EMERGENCY ENTRANCE drive up the ramp facing Highway no 2. My understanding is that it s maned 24 hrs a day. We arrived at about 3 AM. Hope that you will never require their services. Top quality personel and equipment.

Recent Trip to Bangkok Hospital

I am not saying that the hospital that I went to is better than others just thought I’d relate my experience…

I had just eaten dinner (Thursday evening) and sat down for an evening of relaxation when I started to feel unwell (must have been around 9pm). A solid chest pain (pressure) right in the centre of my chest and a radiating pain in my left bicep, I knew straightaway that this wasn’t indigestion.

Told the wife that I should go to hospital so off we went with the rain lashing down, not a very nice scenario to find yourself in. Nevertheless, reached Bangkok Hospital Udon and was immediately taken into one of their crash rooms.
A young doctor and her team went into action and I was told that I had a blockage in one of my blood vessels around the heart and to prepare myself for surgery once she had confirmed with the cardiologist. Not more than thirty minutes later there I was on the operating table all prepped up for a stent (percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), also known as coronary angioplasty) to be put in, which was duly done.

The team at Bangkok Hospital were great, very professional and the operating theatre state-of-art; I watched the whole procedure on one of the six video monitors, once the procedure was finished straight up the ICU where the nursing team took over until I was released on Sunday afternoon (today). I found everything to be very hygienic and staff extremely helpful, pleasant and caring.

I can truly say that in my case the Bangkok Hospital team were very professional and did a great job.

Total cost 267,534.00

I was never asked if I had insurance until the procedure was complete and I was in ICU, where my wife interceded and dealt with the financials with our insurer.
Follow up on my recent trip to Bangkok Hospital... After care appointments, testing, follow ups with the cardiologist etc... have been very good, happy to say everything is coming along nicely and I feel much better for the recommended lifestyle change required for a bit more longevity.

Naturally with an event of this nature prescription drugs have to be taken and quite a lot of them, the hospital has a fine pharmacy but I was a bit shocked at the first prescriptions cost (nearly 20,000 Baht), as this was going to be a recurring purchase each and every month for the rest of my life I thought I'd shop around, I'm glad that I did.

The shopping around paid off... Of the 9 drugs that I have to take daily only one was not the same manufacturer (but the same drug) that the hospital wanted me to purchase. Total cost for the same 1 month supply purchased in town 3,250 Baht - an incredible saving of 16,750 Baht..!

For anyone who'd rather not have to deal with 100 screaming banshees in the open area of the hospital.....there's good news! The hospital is renovating the second floor as the new pediatrics area. Nothing against screaming children, but the downstairs open area is like an echo chamber.

Ive had the same problem 18 months ago.angina pains running down both arms, unable to do anything strenuous.went to kk hospital stayed over night,2 stents @48 mm....160,000b. Then a month later and one more stent 130,000b...ok if it's a real emergency go to bkk hospital but you will be paying double.same goes for meds,I was in bkk Phuket hospital 65,000b for 3 months meds.now on same stuff for around 2,000b a month...while in bkk phuket they stuck me in icu as they said I was being given meds to calm my heart down (fibulation) what it was really was they have a tendency to get you into icu and bump up the bill..I was given beta blockers and this was their excuse to move me into icu.in the uk the docs gave me beta blockers and said on your way sunny.so if you can,pop down to an individual and save yourself 50% and get the same treatment.oh and my brother had the same with the central pain and made it to kk and he got sorted for 120,000b but that was a few years earlier.
