Re: Overpass/tunnel Udon Ringroad Nongkai Hwy

The bridge/tunnel is scheduled to open on 24 Nov. Those who are instagram-conscious can walk through the tunnel on 23 Nov. Seems that January next year would be a good time to visit, that allows for accidents deaths and all sorts of inconsiderate and plainly stupid driving to die down as it were to...

Re: Jobs for young Thai people

Seems that 36 million+ lazy, indolent and workshy Thais didn't get your memo, KP. https://tradingeconomics.com/thailand/employed-persons Just gotta love these broad-brush, and border line racist, generalisations about the native population of the country we choose to live in. I speak from my limite...

Re: Yellow House Books

I am dealing with Udon amphur, I also understand it varies per amphur Years ago when I got my YB at the Udon Amphur, the translation of my passport done by the translation shop on next to Landmark/Tukcom (which just about everyone accepts locally) was all that was needed in addition to the photo co...

Re: Jobs for young Thai people

It is not just the fact that Thais seem to be lazy it appears more and more at their inability to use logic or Critical thinking . They fail to see that a job any job starts them on the ladder or work, then they fail to see the advantages of improving their skills. They do not get paid more in some ...

Re: Yes it really happened

In truth looking at some of the replies to the idiotic comment aboput English Pubs. DFrink Driving laws impacted the trade greatly, plus the fact that the Local (pub ) was losing its appeal to the post war teenagers AKA the Flowser power years and since then . Add to it the no smoking rules and the ...

Re: Here we go again

Ha ha, I was pointing out the simple fact that ever since these incidents of shooting students has occurred the All powerful Gun Lobby seems intent on not allowing those who wish to do away with the law regarding gun ownership . So basically until that happens these incidents will continue , of cour...

Re: Here we go again

It seems the right to bear arms written in the constitution equals the right to kill for almost no reason by many of the youths in the USA, sad indictment of a nation who proclaims to be the worlds policeman, try policing your own country and changing the law, which of course will never happen as we...

Re: Get Ready, Plastic, Styrofoam OUT, but what is IN

If everyone takes as much notice as they do of other laws and bans its not gonna make a lot of difference. Job creation scheme for another million or so cops by the sound of it. How can you say job creation for a more cops, they have a job now but do not do iot, so even more will mean even less wor...

I always said that for Child Sex offenders emasculation is the way to go for Male offenders, for female offenders I have yet to work out the best way, possible sterilisation is a start for them. Once done you can appeal all you want, neither of those procedures are reversible.

Re: Another UK pension hit.

Yes all noted, I got a friend to do some calculations, if 25% of the current expats went back ( those living in those countries not recognised ) it would cost the UK Government far more than if they actually paid the increase to the 500k currently not entitled If i had to move back for financial re...

Death of a British Expat

It is with sadness I have to inform you of the death of a British Man, Mark Barnard, he lived in Ban San ra ra, with his wife, a few years ago he suffered a fall from which he never really recovered. I am telling you all in case anyone knew him. His son has just informed me by email from the UK, det...

Re: Another UK pension hit.

While I concur with the apparent unfairness of the English pension scheme and being English I knew too about the disparity of pensions . The fact that years ago it was decided that all adults should b e able to receive their own pension, this was in part because unlike decades ago women were not onl...
