Re: Isuzu Mu7 or Toyota Fortuner
"Isuzu has the same label as Ford used to in England MFI" Highly unlikely since here in LOS Ford and Mazda share engine and body and Isuzu and Chevey share. Don't know if I would heed the advice of someone who doesn't seen to know the basics. :D Had a Nissan and it was quite good but the Ford we now...

Re: 150 Baht ATM Fee FOR WHAT?
I have not got a response to my question I posted earlier. I ask again. Can someone tell me where the Thai banks get the 150 baht fee? Is it from the foreign banks? I see they say I will be charged a fee, but I have never seen any withdrawals from my USA credit union.... only a 1% international fee...

Re: 150 Baht ATM Fee FOR WHAT?
· Open a Thai bank account. · Transfer money to your Thai bank account from home bank and pay transfer fee. · Withdraw money from Thai bank account, (Siam Commercial/Kasikorn). · Do not pay 150 Baht per withdrawal. Rocket science? Seems most transfer fees are about 1%, The 150bt fee is only .75%, y...

Re: Home much does a live in maid cost in UDON
my maid is extremely expensive, 1/2 my income plus. then will probably end things with most of my cushion after i crap out, as i can't/won't spend it. but my maid let's me stroll around naked, and fart all day. she strolls around naked all day also, but thankfully doesn't fart as much. :lol...

Re: One-Two-Go 747 at Udon Thani Airport
Engine "leasing" is a common practice even with the major air carriers, the Airline I worked for operated a fair amount of leased engines. Aircraft that become obsolete or have little commercial value often find their way to out of the way airports or a place like Pinal Airpark. http://en.wikipedia....

When we married wife kept her maiden name, but she told me if we have a child (not in the plans -- but???) and the child is a male she will have to change her last name to mine. Can't verify but that is what she told me.

The price of gold at the moment indicates the dollar is weakening. I think when we see gold in the $800 range we will be able to say the dollar is stronger. IMHO

Re: Baht What up with Dat?????
Ronnie have you heard the saying "liars figure but figures don't lie". The Euro, Pound and Yen have been steadily gaining on the dollar recently. Those are the main ones I mentally track, all the while the Baht has been somewhat stagnant. I don't worry when China lips off about switching from the do...

Re: U.S. Pension and U.S. Social Security Deposits
Yes, I use SCB, two accounts, one her in Udon and one in Surin. No complaints so far. The main reason I switched from Bangkok Bank is much shorter waits and I seem to get preferred treatment. :D Don't know why I even care about the wait time as retired with no were near a full plate. Probably a beha...

I have my SS deposited in my BofA account and my pension in my CU account, both in the US. This arraignment works very well in my situation and gives me maximum control. Re: Being ripped off time and time again
I firmly believe we deserve all the abuse we are willing to tolerate. One of my rules here is - I don't loan money, (banks do that) I give money and the only one I give money to is my wife and children. If you're getting ripped off time after time, work on your learning curve as it must be a bit fla...

We divide our time between Udon and Surin but wife owns a house in Surin so plan to do future r...

Re: supporting thai wife
I give my wife 10,000bt/mo but that is for her and her family, how she spends it is up2her. The new truck, well after stopping to check out the Ford display outside of T/L earlier this year, a few nights latter in bed and sleep eluding us, she says "heart me stay in Ford truck". So a couple days lat...
