Re: RIP Stephen John Richards AKA Foreign Office Steve

I was very sad to hear this earlier and I’ll miss Steve. As with Dezzer Friday and Saturdays at Kens and other venues were quite fun in Steve's company. As an annual / bi- annual visitor to Udon I think it took him about 4 years to remember my name as by the time I’d arrived at the bar at dusk, Stev...

Re: Buying a new TV

It’s funny I’d never heard or seen the name TCL, however and before reading this thread today my wife said she’d chosen a 40in TCL model reduced from 8000 down to 6000 and it’s a half about model for the money. It’s not all bells n whistles but for her mother it’ll do just fine. Next item to get is ...

Re: Buying a new TV

Yesterday, I bought a Hisense 65" Android TV from HomePro. I never even knew what an Android TV was, but it's basically like a computer. It comes with IPTV free, and they downloaded LiveNet TV onto it as well. So, now no need for a TV subscription as I got channels from all over the world and movie...

Re: Fishing net

You're talking about Cast nets (sounds like "ooun haare" or just "haare"in Thai). There are net shops in town on Phosri Rd. near Immigration office & also the street with the furniture shops, Miss Cake (sorry can't recall the name). The nets the Thais use are very simple Japanese style with chain o...

Had a very good one there back in August. Was huge and lovely only criticism was the roasters where a hybrid roast / boiled but overall it was superb and I can recommend it to others.

New Motorbike / Scooter

My wife wants to buy her daughter a new bike in March 2020. I’m just after any reviews or advice on decent makes and models. She’s not after a sooper dooper, top of the range bike but neither as a young teen who values ‘the look’ is she wanting a basic model so really, a mid range decent bike is the...

Re: Car Rental Wanted

Not rented for 7 years since we bought our car but LEK Car Rental, who, I believe are sponsors on the forum would be my recommendation. Always used them before but excellent service, vehicles and price. Highly recommended
