Miscellaneous COVID-19/Corona Virus Discussion, Questions, etc.

I just can’t believe that some of these Governments, did not have an “Emergency Epidemic Response Plan” of some sorts in place, before this Covid 10 started ... I just see a lot of these Governments, being either unprepared for an event such as this, or too slow off the mark to recognize the potent...

Re: Boris tests positive for Corona

I have found shaking hands a source of anxiety for some weeks before our lock down in NZ. The other person often has too. I did notice there were some who displayed little or no anxiety. Oddly some of those folks were very cautious on other Covid 19 related hygiene matters. I think it would be reall...

New York is looking pretty vulnerable on some of those factors too. It might soon get really ugly in New York too.

Re: US Healthcare = 18% of GDP & yet no masks?

Trump's comments in the ad make it really clear how grossly unfit for office he is. A leader wouldn't survive 2 minutes in many other countries if he was this shockingly dreadful.

Re: Boris tests positive for Corona

I think Boris is great fun and would be a good chap to perch next to on a bar stool. But I think he's a woefully incompetent Prime Minister and that his recent leadership has been very poor. The British public deserve better. I wish him a speedy recovery.

Those numbers help put a bit of perspective on the pandemic. I fear you are gloating too soon. Future updates would be welcome.

The ad would be hilarious if it wasn't so serious. It was obvious come a challenging crisis that Trump would score 0 / 10.

Re: US unemployment record

I heard a NZ economist predicting 15 to 30% unemployment in New Zealand and we too had a giant stimulus package to help employers. The problem is many employers do better by not taking the government money and simply making staff redundant. It's a great opportunity to have a bit of a clean out among...

They seem to have flipped positions on herd immunity. Johnson got a bit anxious about it but it seems to be Trump's current kite. They've both taken a bit of a bollocking over all this.

Cummins. Where did the Tories get him from? His sometimes very witty boss, the British entertainer, is whacked in The New York Times: Boris Johnson Is Not Cut Out for This Crisis Britain needs a leader, not a joker. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/26/opinion/coronavirus-uk-boris-johnson.html?...

The Orange plan.

Trump shares his thoughts way more widely than his predecessors. It's not serving him well. Neither are his TV watching habits.

I suspect he's going to catch the Coronavirus soon. It seems to hit the elites a bit earlier than others.

The British entertainer seems to be out of his depth. Hopefully there's someone considerably more capable ready to take over. Every nation needs good leadership in these challenging times.

Re: Miscellaneous COVID-19/Corona Virus Discussion, Questions, etc.

My oldest step-daughter works in the accounts department at a private hospital for wealthy patients in Bangkok. She is involved in tracking the hospital assets. She tells me the hospital is now being renovated so that it can deal with lots of Covid 19 patients.
