Re: 90 DAY REPORTING WORKING WELL..

This morning I tried to do a 90 day report online using both the Immigration eService App and the online website in my desktop browser, and neither were working. I tried in both Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome browsers. Will try again tomorrow as today is Sunday and they could have shut it down fo...

Re: Transport Offices and road tax payments

If your car is 7+ years old you will need to get it inspected at your choice of inspection stations around town before paying your road tax. There's one beside Smart Drive on Nong Bua road just east of the Ring Road and another on the west side of the Ring Road just south of the older Big-C. You can...

Re: Miscellaneous COVID-19/Corona Virus Discussion, Questions, etc.

This is the most informative and encouraging information that I have seen on Covid-19, and it comes from a medical doctor who is on the front lines of the epidemic at Cornell Medical Center in New York. Watch just the first 23 minutes and you will feel liberated knowing that there are certain precau...

PEA Meter Deposit Refund

I'm surprised no one has posted on this. The Provincial Electric Authority has begun today to refund average deposits of 2000-4000 Baht on electric meters to some 22 million customers totalling over 20 Billion Baht. I went to the website this morning to apply, and of course the site is not working. ...

Re: Udon Coronavirus Horror storys - Tesco Today Tues. 3/24

Today I went to the popular paint store on the Ring Road across from Global House and they gunned me to take my temperature as soon as I ejected from my car. Reading was only 31 C; so I'm guessing with the A/C in the car blowing directly on my face, that gun is only giving a quick surface temperatur...

Re: U.K. going on lockdown, USA stopping restricting movement. WTF

Nobody in the world is capable of providing a ready solution to this crisis, so why is it now that everyone wants to blame President Trump and his leadership in the administration for not having all the answers. If you're only criticizing and not offering solutions, then you're part of the problem....

Re: U.K. going on lockdown, USA stopping restricting movement. WTF

This situation reminds me of the financial collapse of the US stock market in late 2007. The DOW was dropping at breakneck speed and nobody knew what to do because they had never experienced such a rapid and drastic drop. I was trying to manage my own portfolio of stocks through my online account, a...

Re: Has anybody thought this?

sfg, just a reminder that probably only a handful of Udon restaurants, if any at all, wash dishes in hot water. From what I've read about the virus in China, people weren't spreading the virus by using reusable chopsticks or touching jars of condiments. If you're using the same restaurants I normal...

Re: Visa Extension

A friend had his extension of stay turned down today in Udon. The IO wanted to know the "source of income". He was using the 65k/month method. He had a letter from BBL showing 12 months of foreign deposits plus his Passbook. The IO said it was a new requirement. You mean Immigration didn't offer to...

Re: AUD Exchange Rate = 18 Baht

Try 17.8 for an ATM withdrawal or TT at Bangkok Bank, and selling an AUD note to the bank will only get you 17.5 at Bangkok Bank.

Here's the best site for up to the minute changes in rates at most all Thai banks:

And don't forget about the handling of paper money and coins. Nobody wants to talk about how dirty this practice is. One good reason for all economies to go with digital currency. Be extra careful when accepting change in the market places. Currency is being exchanged between stalls and God only kno...

Re: Has anybody thought this?

Don't know if anybody has thought about this....certainly not the restaurant owners. One of my pet peeves is how restaurant owners turn a blind eye to cleaning all the condiment containers sitting on the tables.....salt/pepper shakers, ketchup, fish sauce and so on. Can you just imagine the bacteria...

Re: Miscellaneous COVID-19/Corona Virus Discussion, Questions, etc.

My Cardiologist, who by the way was recently called to be the K**g's primary heart doctor, has his own LINE group, and last night he posted a recorded message to say that the Thai government is ordering all hospital directors to NOT report their cases of Coronavirus to the general public. Other doct...

Oh dear! ......... religion intruding into what is clearly a medical and social issue. God is not going to help, but I guess a few more bucks for the priests officiating at funerals, and gotta keep the collection plates ticking over. Greek Orthodox church says 'holy cup cannot carry disease', allow...

Was watching one of my daily internet news programs today and one of the guests was a very credible degreed billionaire nutritionist who is working with the governor of Texas to set up Coronovirus protocols. His recommendation was as follows to strengthen the body's immune system to it's highest pot...
