Re: Is it time to say bye Thailand?

Gotta admit , i was thinking about this , and i decided if i was a sex tourist or a massive drinker of both . Basically i would spend most of my vacation in one bar or another , so NO i would not come to Thailand . With the Baht so strong against a lot of currencies then it would not be cheap , and...

Re: Medical Insurance For 1 year O-A Visa Holders

If someone (on a retirement visa) has 800K baht in their Thai bank account, one might think that would give a good indication that they can afford to cover most medical situations that might arise and might thus obviate the need for medical insurance. Though I realise that logic doesn't always apply.

My experience....

If you are a glass half full person, you will love Thailand. If not, stay away or your paranoia and negativity will eat you up
I can relate to that comment.
Over the years in LOS I think my glass got slowly reversed.
There are big pluses and big minuses.

If it's about Trump, why were there no protests on the street when Labour invited the IRA into Westminster? The man is a gobshite, insult Trump and you are insulting the American People whom he happens to represent which means Corbin would be happy the American people protesting against a visit by ...

Re: Is it time to say bye Thailand?

What is Farangland going to like in 10 years Cost of everything gone up Your pensions wont be of much value due to this inflation Thailand or other Asian countries will still be cheap in comparison That's a bit misleading. Prices in farangland do go up (as they do in Thailand or wherever), but in t...

Re: The FLASHING of Headlights

In Thailand I have invariably found that the flashing of lights means I am coming through, or if it comes from a vehicle behind you, - that I am wanting to pass you asap.

I was reading a report on Pattaya One yesterday informing all Tourists that a Tax will be introduced on Entry to the kingdom. In my view its not about the price which I believe is 100 tbt its more to do squeezing that little bit more of the orange. It seems to me that there must be someone in the T...

Re: EU in or out? Brexit: The Movie

Although at first sight it looks like great news for Brexiteers and the Brexit party, if you look a little closer not so. The liberals and greens (both very pro-remain) got very substantial gains in vote share, and actually polled more than the Brexit party when combined. The other Pro-remain party...

Fly into Heathrow, Gatwick etc, close your eyes for 10 seconds open them and try to guess what Country you are in. Go through immigration and guess what Country you are in. Go North to Bradford etc and guess what Country you are in. Go to Bangkok, Pattaya or any other tourist place in Thailand you ...

In the most striking sign to date of surging support for Farage, It isn't necessarily support of Farage it is just a lack of any other credible option to replace the Tories. Sad isn't it? It will in effect be a protest vote, because both the Conservatives and Labour failed to deliver what the peopl...

Hi Can I get a mini bus from Central Plaza to the border crossing at Nong Khai or do I need to go back to the airport and use the Limo service at exit gate 3? I will be staying at the Centara 1 night then doing a border bounce and back to the airport. Well that’s my plan hopefully. DenC, If you don...

Re: Alternatives to Thailand

After 15 years in Thailand, 7 of which were in Phuket, 1 in Udon and the last 7 in Nong Khai, I relocated back to the UK in 2015, and have been visiting LOS about once a year since. I am thinking, as I have no ties to LOS whether there are any countries with similar characteristics that I could vis...

You weren't trying to frame him, were you?

I had heard of the Gambia, but think it might be a bit on the primitive side, and health issues might be a worry.
