Re: Anyone flown their Dog with Thai Smile

I flew 3 dogs(pups) with Nok air last year, Udon-Bangkok. Around 700baht each time. Never a problem. Not sure about Thai Smile though. Sounds about right. I bought a Jack Russell puppy on internet from Don Mueang area about 18 months ago. Seller charged 1,000 baht to send Nok Air to Udon. Thought i...

Re: Udon Thani Boarding Kennels

I found them on Google Maps and also showed me how to get there. Too easy, but address is Soi 1, Ban Tat, Udon Thani.
Probably easier to ring them direct. The lady, Fa, speaks very good english.

Udon Thani Boarding Kennels

Had been looking for a good boarding kennel in Udon Thani since getting a Jack Russell puppy about 18 months ago. My lady and I hadn't had a holiday for ages because, unfortunately, we didn't have confidence in the local kennels to take care of our JR. At last we came across Udon Thani Boarding Kenn...

Re: driver license

Am also renewing drivers licence tomorrow in Udon and also 70 this month. Last 5 year renewal was done under AEK Udon but I believe that's now only for motor bikes? I saw on another forum that some places are now making you complete online multiple choice tests for renewals. Is that the case in Udon...

I bought one from Tuk.com in Pattaya before xmas. Asked the man there if he knew whether Tuk.com in Udon also sold them and he said "yes because he gets them from me". Mine was 4,000baht but got it down to 3,600. Has an android 4.2 OS, HD 1080P, 4 core CPU and a 16Gb H/D. I used it to watch all the ...

Extension - Foreign Currency Account

Thanks for that information Jimbo. It's a good point you make about Forex rates but one that is hard to do much about. The aud/tbt exchange rate has been pretty good for a few years now and I happily keep enough baht here to live on for 12 months or so. As it turns out I did open a Foreign Currency ...

800k 12 month term deposit matured at Kbank on weekend and am trying to decide what to do for next 12 months. Rate last year was 2.3%. This year the rate is down to 1.6% according to bank branch or 1.7% on their web page. Foreign Currency Deposit Rate for AUD on Kbanks web page advertises 3.25% for ...

Thanks for that Parrot. Not too worried about this year because not going home to see family until Feb 15. Was considering spending xmas at the condo in Jomtien but not really that important either way. Think I'll test the water by going back to immigration mid December and see what happens. By next...

Tried to extend my 12 month Non - OA in Udon this morning. Doesn’t expire until 27/12 but usually do early so I can visit the kids in Aust for Xmas. Not going home this year but my 800k is in a 12 month term deposit maturing 29/11 so still have to get the extension before then. First problem was the...

BBC and ABC TV off the air again?

Is it just me or are others finding that BBC and ABC have not been on air since the weekend?
On the screen is the blue ball that we saw when the Army took them off air after the coup.
Can someone please confirm?

If you haven't found one yet I use a guy in Tehan Road opposite Wing 23. The place is called Dynamo and mobile is 0868598884 or 042342784.
Usually has a red hard top jeep out the front. Also has some very old bikes and jeeps inside.
He's a good guy also speaks reasonable english. His name is Pap.

LIST OF REFERENCES; CONTRACTORS

Can anyone help with a draftsman in the Udon area? I know what I want to build and have sketches etc but would really prefer to have a draftsman draw up some proper working plans.
If no draftsman I'll probably have to look at an architect.
Any help appreciated.

Don't think you'll find too much in Udon. I do carry a small compressor from Tesco under the front seat of the pick up. Good for motor bike tyres and has inflated my tyres enough to get me to a tyre shop on more than one occassion. If you want serious accessories this shop in BKK has it all: www.vvp...

You can purchase the Garmin Nuvi 42 at Se-ed or Power Buy for 3,990 bht but pretty sure the maps will be in Thai only. The English maps on cd may have to come from Garmin in BKK.

Using a Term Deposit for O-A extension

Thanks I'll renew visa 27/11. Funny but Kasikorn had a 10 month term deposit with .5% higher rate. Nearly took that, in fact the girl had even done the entries, and then I realised I would be in trouble with a new book and only 2 months old. My logic exactly with the 2.3% interest. 18,400 baht inter...

Police Road Block Nong Bua Lamphu.

I bought the lights from VVP 4 x 4 in BKK couple of years ago, cost about 13k baht. What a waste. I drive to Jomtien every couple of months to a condo and prefer to drive at night and take the short cut through the mountains to Kabin Buri. The Navara lights are ****, although, strangely, I had the s...
