Re: Consolidated Jokes

My girlfriend's dog died two days ago, so I got her an identical one. She was really crazy about it, saying, "What the f___ do I want with two dead dogs!".

Re: Bristol, England and its slave trading benefactor

Not trying to make excuses - only now finding out about the other statues. Note they were not erected to celebrate the slave trade but for the prosperity that they brought to the region. Until now most of us Brits didn't know about the origins of the wealth). However, I will disagree to your stateme...

Re: Bristol, England and its slave trading benefactor

I, like many other English (probably most) had never heard of Edward Colston until his statue was pulled down. Now, knowing the history of how he made his money I wish that his statue had remained in order that people like me and future generations can be educated about people like him and the wicke...

My house!! The missus won't let me throw away anything. Even when something no longer works and is replaced, we still keep the previous (now useless) item. :D

Re: Question about this new Bio Diesel

I think that you may be confusing Bio diesel with Bio gasoline (petrol). Bio diesel is a combination of standard diesel and plant oils (palm oil, cooking oils etc), whereas Bio gasoline (gasohol) is a combination of Petrol (Gas) and ethanol. Diesel use the designation B10, B20 to show the percentage...

Re: Corona Virus / COVID-19 Important Information

The effectiveness of any mask depends upon the density of the material used in the mask. :D If dense enough to stop the virus, you can't breath through it. The effectiveness of the 'average' mask as worn in Thailand is like using a chain-link fence to stop a marble. Wearing a mask may make s...

Re: UK to put all citizens over 70 into MANDATORY isolation

I think the idea behind the over 70s isolation is to protect the over 70s :D All (or large majority) those who have died in the UK have been between 65-80yo. This is the cohort that has the least resistance to fight the virus. :( If you don't come into contact with others then you have less chance o...

Luggage Scales

Does anyone know where I can purchase a set of hand held digital scales for weighing luggage? I need them before Sunday so using Lazada won't work. Has anyone actually seen a set in a shop in Udon? Any help appreciated :D :D

Thanks Statto for bringing me up to date. How does this compare with the average of 17,000 per year for 'ordinary' flu ?

Re: Will it ever STOP????

How the corona virus will behave is unknown, but the media hype (helped by dicks on facebook etc) it is feared that it will be another epidemic like the Asian flu of 1918-20. Well, it may be so, but at this time there has not been a death in the UK, however, the 'ordinary' flu virus has resulted as ...

Re: Water filter system

Thirty years ago when working in central Africa, for potable water we had to boil the water for twenty minutes and then purify through ceramic filters (Berkfeldt). Took about 2hrs to get 20 litres. Here, I have 20litre containers of drinking water delivered at 10baht each. :D

Greater Manchester has almost the same population as Latvia, but the GDP of Greater Manchester is U$60 billion and the GDP of Latvia is U$30 billion. Since TESCO banned plastic bags in Kut Chap, customers have carried their goodies out to the car in the green shopping baskets. Unfortunately a large number of customers have gone on step further and driven off with them. As a result there are virtually no shopping baskets at TESCO Kut Chap....

A little bit selfish - I always take the meal home and give to the little girl next door who considers it a treat! :D

Part of me sympathises with these three ladies - but part of me understands Thai Airways perspective. I think that this is essentially a 'cultural' issue. From Google - The first British telephone directory was published on 15 January 1880 by The Telephone Company. It contained 248 names and addresses of individuals and businesses in London; telephone numbers were not used at the time as subscribers were asked for by name at the exchange.

There have been thirty years of terrorism and more than three thousand deaths in Northern Ireland on the topic of whether or not to join with the Republic of Ireland.
