Re: Grass Roots Footie 2018/19

It's an interesting one and, putting personal feelings aside, feel that the only way will be to fulfill the fixtures somehow. It may be in 2 months or 12 months time but, to write off 80% of the games played in a season would be a ridiculous thing to do. I'm personally not in favour of the fudge in ...

Was going to put this in the premier league thread as that's where we would be by now.

LUFC leading the way again.

Re: Reporting from Across the Pacific

Interesting comparison. Back in the UK, my girlfriend and I spent an average of £230 per month (THB 9,200) on groceries last year. We have been stranded in the UK for 15 days now and spent £254 (THB 10,160) so, roughly double, taking into account my fridge is full here whereas we live day to day in ...

As a fit, strong untermensch, I never worry about LUFC..... if they dont go up, we will be able to take the moral high ground and whinge about the unter stench of corruption of the footballing authorities again.

Re: UK in Lockdown.

You overestimate the Brits desire for exercise in the cold Zid. I am "stranded" in the UK and running my usual 6/10k daily. I pass no more than 10 people, keeping a distance from them. Having few designated outdoor tracks or exercise areas the like of which we have in Thailand is actually a benefit ...

Re: Coronavirus Policy - update

One thing that may be relevant is that, if you come to Thailand and rely on the medical expenses section of a travel policy, this will be void as you are travelling to a country against government advice.

Remember Jim Breaks? He used to own a pub in Batley near my UK home. Just googled him and seen he has been charged with murder in Spain!

Re: Coronavirus Now in Thailand !!

Just flown down to BKK and sat in lounge waiting for AUH flight. 75% people on the flight had masks but, at Suvarnabhumi, it is a clear division in that virtually 100% orientals masked up and nearly all falang without. Interestingly, no-one in the Lounge (apart from staff) is masked. Flight down was...

Re: retirement visa extension based on 800.000 in bank

My personal choice if I were in your situation would be to visit HCMC just before the current permission to stay expires and get a new Non O Visa, this would probably be less expensive this year and certainly very much less next year (always assuming no further changes) Thanks for further clarifica...

Re: retirement visa extension based on 800.000 in bank

STW, you raise an interesting point relevant to my own circumstances. I have an OA visa which expired June 2019. My permission to stay is to May 2020. Given the changes, I was looking at the best way of doing things after May and I hadn't considered an extension of my current Visa. I assumed that, o...

I hope you extend the same compassion to all the immigrants in the UK who bend the rules to stay in the country. If not, you are a hypocrite.

Nah. We'll beat Thailand easily and qualify in 2nd place meaning we avoid Oz in the semis. Still fancy the Sheilas to win in spite of their 2 crappy performances so far

Re: Women’s T20 World Cup.

I've watched a lot over the past 5/10 years or so and, in that period the standard has improved immensely. The Indian bowlers yesterday looked like pie chuckers in their action but, the skills were there - Yadav is a truly classy bowler. Having said that, the entertainment value for me is still the ...

Re: Women’s T20 World Cup.

The tournament in Aussie is about to commence. I have a new 2nd best team to follow. I did not know Thailand have a women’s team. Let alone qualified for this prestigious tournament. They have started with a warm up game and a reasonable showing batting through their 20 overs against NZ. Aussies to...

Re: Bank ID

Could do Gary but it would only end up out here anyway and I would lose a few THB on exchange ..... I am a tight Yorkshireman!! It's more the principal really.

When googling Thai bank IBAN numbers, it just says Thai banks dont have them. Is this misinformation?
