This is brilliant. One for Salah to try out when the refs run out of sympathy for his diving

Surely not! Any discerning beachgoer would prefer polluted sea, discarded bottles of Stella and the stench of sewage to anything from Oz

Re: Which planet ...........

I got that one. Number 1 is Whitehaven beach which surprised me a little as Whitehaven is a crap-hole in the arse end of nowhere in close proximity to Sellafield nuclear plant :D

Re: A Scathing Indictment of the UK Prime Minister

Totally agree Rick. The problem is Stats that people over here still dont get it no matter how firm the Government is or was. If they had painted a domesday scenario in, say, January and closed borders, they would have been ridiculed. Businesses would have demanded that they stay open and people wou...

Can’t imagine the ablution blocks at the back of the stands after the luncheon curry interval. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It cant be worse than wading through the p*** at Headingley after a day on the beer. No luncheon interval btw as it's a day/night game :D Not a good first session with 4...

Re: A Scathing Indictment of the UK Prime Minister

^ Your view. I do feel that you are talking specifics. Travel and immigration is much easier in Europe than in the Antipodes regardless of whether the UK legally is in or out of the EU. In general terms it was impossible to persuade businesses and individuals to restrict travel in the short window a...

Re: Cricket 2021

3rd test starts tomorrow. I wasn't aware until I heard on the radio this morning that it was a day/night test with a pink ball. Dew has been an issue from memories of previous night games on the sub-continent so, hopefully, the Indian spinners wont be able to get a decent grip on the ball. Regardles...

Re: A Scathing Indictment of the UK Prime Minister

The U.K. island on the other hand... - is around 20 miles from mainland Europe - for virtually the whole pandemic was part of the EC resulting in less tight borders - has a populous who rely on imported goods - acts as an global travel hub - is an international hub for commerce requiring freedom of...

Re: A Scathing Indictment of the UK Prime Minister

I respect your opinion Stats. My own experience tells me that there is equal cronyism in all politicians. Boris is no worse and no better than others. As for your comment JS, there is no certainty for me as to the "other mob". I have no political affiliation but, the very basis of a Government to th...

Re: A Scathing Indictment of the UK Prime Minister

Maybe it's a coincidence but, like Vlad, I'm in the UK and, I tend to agree with aspects of his comments. Just to put you guys right on one thing, the PPE thing is the main discussion point on all major news channels. There is no reasonable comparison between the responses of UK/US and Thailand. In ...

Re: Cricket 2021

Looks to me like England are defending their series lead rather than going for it. Bringing Moeen in will weaken the bowling and is a little harsh on Bess who took 4 wickets on a flat surface in the 1st innings of the 1st test. Not sure Broad and Woakes will do the same damage as Anderson and Archer...

Re: UK - state quarantine latest.

I am ok with nurses, teachers, police quitting. There are others to take their place and, if they are truly so stressed by this pandemic then they shouldnt have chosen their profession. Would a serviceman be ok saying he didnt want to go to the Falklands in 1982 because he didn't think he'd have to ...

Re: UK - state quarantine latest.

Your view. Your circumstances. You and other merchant seamen have my sympathy. It's unfair. I had no idea you were an MS so you clearly havent played the "poor me" card unless I havent been paying attention. Wont bore anyone with my life but, the current pandemic doesnt particularly suit me either. ...

Re: UK - state quarantine latest.

We all have crosses to bear in our professions. If you dont like your job and havent considered the implications, leave. It has always seemed intrinsically unfair to me that lardarses who spend their lives swilling alcohol, smoking fags, eating crap and not excersising get the same treatment as othe...

Re: UK - state quarantine latest.

Meanwhile, the U.K. government refuses (again) to add police to the list of essential or front-line workers who qualify for expedited Covid vaccination. YCMTSU Seems fair enough to me. You have to have a system. Every profession seems to be bleating about being in the front line and demanding they ...

Re: Cricket 2021

England have played well and, as I type, leave the Indians to score 420 in, at a guess, about 110 overs so, a draw is the worst case scenario for England. I've read the various websites about qualification for the new world test championship but am still scratching my head. It seems we need to win t...

Re: Six Nations 2021

^ This from a nation of perpetual underachievment in the "beautiful game". 1966 was it? One of only 8 countries. We've also won cricket and egg chasing WC. Not bad when there are c200 countries in the world. Don't see Scotlands name even as finalists. Perpetual failures. No wonder I'm seeing so man...

Re: Six Nations 2021

I'm going to be (even more) bloody unbearable for some... but what's new, eh? Rugby Union is a game for Nancy boys but, the Scots must be very proud today. If your original post was correct and it was the first win in 38 years, that means the first win in about 20 games. Tremendous achievement. Wel...
