Re: Is it time to say bye Thailand?

Just some observations: • With the ฿ vs the $ barely holding above 30 and as I expect it to continue down, below 30 before the end of year. • The problems with immigration requirements. • Looking at this sites Classifieds it’s getting harder & harder to sell Houses/Cars/Trucks/Bikes/Stuff without t...

Don't even waste your time going there. I drove by twice and it was closed both times (during normal working hours).

(SOLD) Konik Z200 ATV - 200cc w/ less than 900km) Fun to Drive!

The wife and I are moving so I have to sell my ATV. If you live outside Udon Thani's ring road then you can have a lot of fun with this 200cc motorbike. For a quick sale, I'm only asking 42,000 baht (paid 72,000 baht). The ATV has just around 900km on the odometer. This thing really turns heads. If ...

The situation is worsening. AUD, Pound and Euro are no match for the Baht. Currency carnage!

Re: Currency Crisis Happening Now

Most wealthy people are diversified, but not across currencies. Yeah in hindsight it would have been smart to move half while the exchange rate was 20% higher (not too long ago). Ahhh... at least I built the house with approx 34/usd instead of the current rate. On the bright side, USD net worth hig...

Re: Currency Crisis Happening Now

Wealthy people are usually smart enough to diversify their portfolio so that the decline of one asset is offset by the ascent of another. Most wealthy people are diversified, but not across currencies. Yeah in hindsight it would have been smart to move half while the exchange rate was 20% higher (n...

Re: Currency Crisis Happening Now

If you're living that close to the margins, maybe it's time to reconsider life abroad where work is not appreciated and you're really little more than a parasitic host. Your assumption doesn't consider folks who are wealthy and losing a lot (at least on paper) because their assets are in dollars, e...

Currency Crisis Happening Now

I am very surprised there isn't more talk of what is happening with exchange rates. I'm looking at all the major pairs (USD, AUD, GBP, EUR) against the Baht. It is a total disaster and it seems to be accelerating! Yet, folks are fairly quiet about this situation. I understand English teachers may no...

My mother in law lost some money in this scam. It wasn't the first time. Happens ALL THE TIME. People will never learn. Sam Prao in particular is such a **** hole (yet the value of property here is totally insane).

Re: Survey: many Thais feel lonely

@ Saint: Totally agree. It's true from a social standpoint, but also an economic standpoint. Think of all the loss of productivity due to all the wasted hours on Facebook. The internet was supposed to be a tool, not a digital ghetto. Governments around the world should tax the hell out of social med...

Re: Why low foreign currency values

@Stantheman can you show us why you think that? Being a net exporter (and also reliant on tourism) it would be odd for the central bank to take that approach.
