Travel on an Expired Thai Passport

Just for additional info: My wife doesn't have a UK passport, she isn't a citizen here. She does have an ILR - Settlement visa as does our daughter. Bubbles, I have read similar situations to yours, it seems only with Thai Airways. Though, I am nervouse about risking it, so I'll be making the trip t...

Travel on an Expired Thai Passport

My wifes Thai passport expired a couple of months back. We are planning to stay in Udon Thani, at the beginning of November and I have checked with the Thai Embassy in London (we live in the UK) and while a replacement passport would take up to 2 months to get, they do a temporary passport though th...

Steve and Mali's open again.

Steve was a great host, back when I stayed at the Irish Clock. Good to see he is still around. I'll certainly check-out his new venture.

The Pannarai Hotel Udon Thani (Sponsor)

This looks a fantastic hotel. Haven't been to Udon Thani, for 5 years. Looking to be there, in November, for a couple of weeks. This is high on the list.

Re: Take a short trip to China to teach English

While the details of this are abit vague. I will be in Thailand in a month or so and after my stay there would be quite willing to take a job as a teacher. I have no Tefl qualification but have taken classrooms of adults for training in a workplace environment.

Re: Boxing

Superb performance by Manny against his durable foe. Clottey seemed content to stay behind his high guard. I had thought he'd have been more adventurous as he was the much bigger man. Almost a shut-out by Manny - I gave Joshua only one round. With regards to Danny Green - it has to be taken into con...

Re: President Hotel Udon Thani

President Hotel was fine when I stayed there in May 2008 for about a week. Food was nice though I couldn't get a hamburger there til my last day. (and it was a bloody lovely tasting burger) Abit out of the way but nice, clean swimming pool and staff friendly. Didn't see any cockroaches or prostitute...

Only met, Michael very briefly when he had the bar next to the Irish Clock.

Knowing that I was also from Wales (Bob told him) he asked if I had any Caerphilly Cheese. :D

Anyway, I hope he makes a full recover.

Iechydd dda, Michael.

Re: Cost of Living Information - Udon Thani

This is an excellent and enlightning topic and I am reading all your posts with great interests. I plan to move to Udon in about 2 months with the wife, so very interested in the costs of living. I think mine will be the lower end of the scale as I won't be running a car or partying. Planning on ren...

house can be in your name also. most banks won't mortgage over the age of 60, so full payment required before that age. if 50 now, 10 yr mortgage is best you will get. i personally have never had a mortgage in thailand, but that is what i was told by quite a few who have. 8) Thanks for the reply la...

Re: Rugby Union

Just bought my ticket for the Autumn International at the Millenium Stadium, Cardiff. Wales vs Western Samoa - £15. Great deal but will be a costly Friday night - Work til 2 then straight into Cardiff town for the beers before the game. Had to explain to the Thai wife why she wasn't going. It's drin...
