Health insurance for uninsured foreigners in Thailand

There are a few things which are crystal clear: some farangs managed to sign up for the Health Card Scheme for Uninsured Foreigners which apparently wasn't designed to include farangs. Some farangs had treatment and medication already and didn't have to pay for it. That's it so far! There are no ind...

I'm sorry, the previous quote wasn't correct! This is the corrected quote and my answer to it: ....So it is unlikely you will receive any benefit from it. The most you can expect is to recover the 2,200bht you paid, but I wouldn't hold my breathe about that either. :-" Sorry, this again is based on ...

.... To add to the above, it was mentioned that many of the Dr's who have their own private clinics or work in private hospitals as well, are opposed to treating Farang under the scheme .So another storm on the horizon . Hmm, that really doesn't fit in with the few experiences that have been made a...

Was in Nong Wau Sor hospital this morning, just visiting . .... The info brochure says in point 3 that you need to be registered in Udon Thani Muang to be eligible for signing up with the health scheme. The article points this out as well. Maybe that was the reason why at Udon Hospital they didn't ...

I didn't bring this all up to start a discussion about whether this might be a first class health insurance or not! Jing Jing wrote:The Thai insurance will only be accepted at UD Hospital. It is unclear if this is the 30฿ plan or a hybrid plan and if there are copays.
The plan offers the same health care as the national health insurance does for Thai employees. The copayments are listed in the article.

Health insurance for uninsured foreigners in Thailand

Will have to look into this. At around $90 a year or $7.50 a month it will be much less than my US military health care. Thanks for the link Flo ;) If you have a affordable health insurance you might better stick with it as things in Thailand can change quickly. The Thai scheme might be an extra op...
