Re: Foreigners behaving badly
Firstly IN NEW ZEALAND you can run from the police if your mad enough, but they will chase you down.. as for laying a hand on them , YOU DONT..unless maybe in a scuffle at some protest.. if you did, the Armed Defender Squad would arrive, and you would probably end up shot.. so thats what makes this...

Re: Duvet, bed spreads and sheets
I bought 100% cotton fitted sheet, duvet cover and pillow slips from this mob nearly 3 years ago. https://www.lazada.co.th/shop-bedding/utici-123486845/ The sheet still fits perfectly, and the other bits are in great condition. They will be my first stop when I need to replace. I'll check it out js...

Re: Future energy sources?
GIYF Hydrogen fuel cells Pros: No vehicle emissions other than water vapor. Fuel economy equivalent to about twice that of gasoline vehicles. Hydrogen is abundant, and can be made from renewable energy. Cons: This space-age technology is expensive. Acceptable range requires extremely-high-pressure, ...

Duvet, bed spreads and sheets
Any recommendations for a one-stop shop for quality bed linens? I've bought before at Big C but, like Lotus's, they have greatly downsized their selection and only have the cheaper stuff that doesn't last.

Re: Essentially Monthly Income Credit Issue + rant
I have been on marriage visa, monthly deposit, for 5-years. Any issues with immigration has been of my own making or lack of communication skills, or misunderstanding what they are asking. On several occasions, they have allowed me to slide by on some documents. I have nothing but respect for offic...

Re: Future energy sources?
Whistle Canada produces 548 million tonnes of CO2 every year. It requires 31-46 trees to compensate for 1 tonne of CO2. Canada requires 25,208,000,000 (taking the higher number of 46) trees to offset our CO2. The Canadian Boreal Forest has an estimated 500-600 BILLION trees! That means we have enou...

Interesting read here. Energy guru Daniel Yergin: «I'm sick of the energy transition discussion» Daniel Yergin is often called the most influential energy analyst in the world. The American author has a clear answer to the question of whether the age of oil is over. https://www.nzz.ch/english/energy...

Re: Baltimore Bridge collapse
Nobody here is investigating. We can only speculate. Further information indicates that the emergency power generator didn't restore power to the vessel's disabled propulsion systems. Disabled propulsion means a dead rudder, and a dead rudder means no steering. Dropping the anchors was the next best...

Re: Baltimore Bridge collapse
The safety guidelines when the bridge was built almost 50 years ago probably didn't factor in the quadrupling in the average size of vessels or the expansion of port facilities at Baltimore. Unfortunately, the development of any safety edicts was probably given to the USCG who, in my opinion, is an ...
