Re: Beware of Lazada.

I wish everyone would stop shopping on line . Then i would not have to navigate around the homicidal monkeys that drive the delivery trucks .!!!! Having them doing the navigating certainly beats the crap out of me having to do the 3hr round trip to Udon, find parking and hoping like hell the vendor...

Re: 90 Day Report Online

All very well until you cross the border and come back with a new TM6 card! Resets the sequence = start again. Do a direct report (or mail as I do) 90 days later and maybe - JUST maybe - you might be lucky enough to achieve this remarkable milestone AGAIN. For me = 3 times since it was introduced Ap...

Re: Rumor Check: Problems with income method in Udon for extension based on retirement

Have a friend who has decided to go down the 800K path. Been offered 1.85% interest on a term deposit THEN OUT COME THE HOOPS!!! His bank insists on a list of requirements including a fully notorised Thai translation of his passport by the Aust Embassy (I doubt they can do that?). I'm thinking this ...

I've been saying for years this is the the end goal.

They're not interested in what they can't see or hold in their hands.

They're only happy when they see 800k in a Thai bank.

Re: Bad Experience at Udon Thani Hospital

Why not just pay a few Baht and goto the Thai Military hospital, if you can't afford AEK - BKK Hospital or the like? Had two very good experiences at the Military Hospital, one for TW's Aunty and one for myself!

Re: Road crash survey

I bought DMax in 2002, drove hire cars prior to that. About 2007, had a kid on a souped up Honda wave come across my front lawn (out of control) and kit the drivers door as I was entering my car port. His father paid for the damage. Tee boned a samlor about 2015 - 75% my fault, minor damage to both ...

Re: Udon Thani International Airport

Anything is better than going via either of the BKK airports - also flying to Hanoi or Luang Prabang as examples, you fly down to BKK only to fly back over Udon, what a waste ! So what percentage of the Thai and/or Expat population, in Udon and surrounds, would you expect want to fly to Hanoi or Lu...

Re: Udon Thani International Airport

Seems there's been a few attempts at direct international flights......?Bangkok Air? to Seoul......another airline to Singapore. Both were short lived.....I thought because of a lack of demand. It's only a matter of time before it happens.....the newer generation isn't going to want to fly south to...

Re: Lone Star News *Trigger Warning*

HOAX Alarmism. True, but the fact that some people exaggerate doesn't mean that climate change isn't a problem. As I've said before, we need credible, reliable, scientifically sound data. Climate change is a NATURAL OCCURRENCE which has affected the worlds development over 4.5 Billion years. Any, h...

Haven't seen any of the problems JS and others are reporting just recently.

All I can confirm is the "Ajax Error" which had 'dogged me' over the passed 12 months has definitly gone away!

Happy days.

Well there's a positive!

Since these latest complications raised their ugly head and have been repaired so has my dreaded AJAX Error (mark forums read) that I have complained about over the last year!

Re: schools obsessed with uniforms

Yep my 24 yo step daughter wore a uniform right up to the time she graduated last year. She did 2 internships in her final year with a bank and NOK Air where she (we) had to buy uniforms for them as well? (hated being with NOK!). Bottom line = 5 years of tertiary education, books, uniforms, accommod...

Re: 800k in thai bank for extending retire visa

I think I am correct in claiming bank pass books can be renewed at any branch these days so maybe bank statements are easier as well. For future reference. A bit off topic. Yes, that does apply to the KasikornBank:- Over the years I have obtained a new passbook, ATM Card and Statements from the Ban...

Re: Medical Insurance For 1 year O-A Visa Holders

If someone (on a retirement visa) has 800K baht in their Thai bank account, one might think that would give a good indication that they can afford to cover most medical situations that might arise and might thus obviate the need for medical insurance. Though I realise that logic doesn't always appl...

Re: Medical Insurance For 1 year O-A Visa Holders

To the best of my knowledge, there's nothing official yet. As always with immigration details, there are lots of rumors/conjecture but nothing yet signed-sealed-delivered. Well said, the Insurance companies will try to screw the pooch. I advise you ALL to read (STUDY) this thread before panicking! ...
