Re: soldering solution

hell I am not going all the way back to Udon just to buy a tin of something..why cant it be in the kitchen.. Well I guess you could use a syringe and extract a little acid out of your battery, dilute it by about 50% and MAKE SURE it it well washed off after completing the exercise. Old bushmans tri...

Re: soldering solution

Soldering Flux, in several forms usually a translucent paste. If the wire and connection is perfectly clean you can use "Resin Core Solder", has the flux impeded in it. Tool Pro or any half arsed electrician should have it. EDIT: What he said above me, in a dim age gone by he and I sat together snif...

Re: Visa Extension

Ms Dodgy Visa, Udon uses Chonburi about 17,000 Baht 2,000 of which is to do the 90 Day reports for the customer. If one wants an Udon stamp in their PP it's about 20,000 Baht. From a friend who has been using her for some 8 years.

Re: Sendiing Mail

Has anyone received mail (ordinary letter) from Oz recently? I am still waiting for something that was (apparently) sent at the beginning of April. That surprises me! In March my sister was told by her local post master that international mail was not being accepted due to International Commercial ...

Re: PO Box in Udon

Not Udon related but:- Yep, same situation as @mick. Had ours here in Ban Dung for some 18 years, only gone up 50 Baht in that time to 250. A total waste of money as the post office ignores it (as addressed) and sends out our mail, including EMS, via the post man anyway. We are about 17km out of tow...

Re: Udon Immigration office lately

So with your infinite wisdom how do you explain the wording of the TM7 form you submit every year (assumed). You are claiming for me something I never do, but thank you. Which words are you referring to? Do you mean ( I hereby apply for extension period of temporary stay in the Kingdom for……………days...

With all due respect STWW. As I said A visa is never/can never, be extended. I think you are confusing the issue some what! I have been in Thailand since 2001 on one form of Non Immigration VISA or another including "B" with work permit. My last was a 12 Month multiple entry Non "O" Immigration "VI...

Re: Monthly Food and Household Items Budget

5K???? That wouldn't keep Mrs Dero in "sticky rice" for a month let alone feed me and step daughter, etc. Sure that is not a misprint Tam? I'm thinking 20K with 8K of that going into Makro and other various retailers in Udon each month.

<snip> In the meantime, if you are still using XP, can I suggest Netscape Browser. :D Would you believe I am, on my standby PC which only gets used to back up my data bases. It's not connected to the outside world. FF was basically configured in the "default" mode and as I stated the ONLY extension...

Refreshing open tabs was taking 5 minutes and more even with this site. AND, before you ask I only use one extension = ABP. I have the lat...

Re: 90 DAY REPORTING WORKING WELL..

You've been in and out a bit over the past couple of years, Dero. From what I understand, the online system works best when you have stayed put in Thailand, and the details (eg TM6. etc etc) match up with those in your previous report. Yes your right Jack, but this was my 2nd report from doing my e...

Re: 90 DAY REPORTING WORKING WELL..

For the 1st time in 2 years I was able to get to the "Pending" phase of the online 90 day report facility. That was a bit of a surprise, I had my snail mail report prepared and just tried online (AGAIN) at the last minute.

Ah, the mother of all arguments to anyone who makes the slightest complaint about anything here. Well done, sir! I must give in to your intellectual prowess and hide my head in shame at being so intrepid as to poke my toe out of the rose-tinted glasses tent. Doesn't Thailand's economy (at least not...
