Re: A Shadow of Darkness From Australia.

Could not disagree more. From both a moral and a practical standpoint. From a moral standpoint, we should not sink to the lowest level. All wars are bad, but the Geneva convention which was framed after WWI has had practical benefits over the past 100 years. While flouted by baser nations, we had WW...

Rugby league legend John Sattler RIP

Satts gone, really sad, he was a great man. Playing almost an entire game with a broken jaw to win a grand final was almost superhuman. I remember him when South's were fighting Murdoch, he stood on the steps of Sydney town hall and sang Glory Glory. 80,000 people joined him, it was wonderful

Kith and kin, yes. Interesting structure and wording of recent posts if I didn't know better, it would say it looked like two different people are sharing the same ID. I see. Paranoia. Paranoia is thinking and feeling like you are being threatened in some way, even if there is no evidence, ...

Re: A Shadow of Darkness From Australia.

If I read that the nearest star is x million light years away, I accept that but the figure is beyond my comprehension. Ditto young men facing death in a foreign land, what the hell are they going through to deliver on a decision made by politicians and military brass that may never have seem a shot...

Re: A Shadow of Darkness From Australia.

A lone wolf, Impossible to believe. Tip of the iceberg, almost certainly. Part of the assessment in selecting SAS soldiers is to see if they have some 'attitude'. Valuable for the toughness need for the job, but a double edged sword. Having an ex SAS vet in my extended family, these guys are a worry.

For those that made a number of posts (most derogatory) about the USS Enterprise visit to Sydney, this long article includes mention of the visit. It clearly stated that the Enterprise 'anchored' in Sydney harbour, not 'docked' as it would if berthed at any wharf. https://www.seaforces.org/usnships/...
