Re: Shopping Today

I've been shopping at Ngeesoon for as long as I've been here. I knew the owners before they died....and back years ago, there was no Tesco, so shopping choices were more limited. I know what products they carry and it's pretty easy to go in and get what I need.....no crowds or long lines. And their...

Re: How Much (Current Funds) Needed For The Long Term?

Long stay visa is going to require you to put 400-800k Baht into a low interest savings account. New insurance requirements just for you could cost you several thousand dollars more for insurance that won't cover major medical needs. 40 years old with "non thai wife" and 2 "non thai kids". • What d...

Re: How Much (Current Funds) Needed For The Long Term?

I'm wondering what Udon Thani expats think is needed to retire or live here long term. I am 40 years old, have a wife and two small children. If I plan to live to 80 years old and didn't have any income whatsoever.... what amount right now would be needed to live here comfortably for the next 40 ye...

Did the rebuild (looks and feels good) gave me appointment to see implant doc. Imagine will explain w...

Re: Dental implants question.

All kinds of dentists in Udon. A search here just might bring up some? Didn't try myself. Wife got some implants a few years back, loves her dentist, think he is between the 2nd and 3rd circle, but not sure. And she no longer has the number. Am looking myself for a dentist, for a pain. Am going to t...

Re: Mandatory health insurance for Non O-A visa effective from 31 October

Some of my older (>10 years) stamps say "Application of stay is Permitted" the later stamps are saying "Extension of stay Permitted" Been through 2 passports and have not seen a "Permission to Stay" on the stamp I'm sure it means the same thing. This is all just pedantics! I think you mean semantic...

Years ago I received an O Visa based on retirement which was good for One Year. Each year I ask for and received a One Year extension of said O Visa. PERIOD

Australia This is not normal: What's different about the NSW mega fires? "Unprecedented" If anyone tells you, "This is part of a normal cycle" or "We’ve had fires like this before", smile politely and walk away, because they don’t know what they’re talking about. Clearly Can you say Exponential? htt...

Re: Villa market

Stopped by Villa today, noonish, things were booming, 12 checkouts open to handle the crowd. Did stop by and there were 2 checkouts open, had to wake the one I went to, she woke with a smile. Beside seeing my wife in a few aisle and a few workers, think there was 1 other Thai there. Between me...

Re: Mandatory health insurance for Non O-A visa effective from 31 October

Well I guess, as it looks, I poured gasoline on the topic by posting the US Embassy notice? Thought it had some useful links? What’s the Big stink about? Hell all you rich foreigners (being nice) just need to fork out another 100K for insurance (well, if your young enough to get some), so 900K per y...

Re: ClimateChange - EndTime 2050 - Disturbing Report Sheds Light on

Climate Change - EndTime 2050 Been saying that since 1970 later on was verified by a BBC doc which was strangely pulled and never repeated, even in its files. figured if I lived til 2020 would see if I was right. It's 2019 and am no longer waiting, for what I was expecting in 2020, happened in 2019...

Oh, if you click on the "about" link from the article you'll find it is a Russian o̶w̶n̶e̶d̶/based/f̶u̶n̶d̶e̶d̶ news source..

Would trust a Russian site way before trusting wiki, but that's me.
