ClimateGate busts things wide open

The Keystone pipeline was mentioned earlier in this thread. Obama (finally) gives an excellent factual explanation of the the project and debunks the Right-wingnuts false messaging to the American sheeple. -9KYlFNJTa4 What strikes me most is that our (Fail!) American media could have and should have...

ultrasonic rat/mice repellent

Anyone ever used, or have info about ultrasonic rat and mice repellent . I have one in my garage plugged in 24/7. It supposedly also wards off mosquitoes (NOT!). The field rats must like the sound because a young couple moved in and immediately produced 4 rat babies up in the loft. :-({|= :g...

MICROSOFT NOW ACCEPTING BITCOIN!

To say this is a potentially huge development would be an even greater understatement.

home robbed

No outside lighting. No bars on windows. Ostentatious exterior/design. Huge conspicuous safe inside. (Probably) High perimeter walls preventing outsiders from seeing inside.

The house screams: "PLEASE rob me!"

China Now #1 World Economy / U. S. #2

The headline is woefully misleading. On a per-capita basis, the USA remains #1 by FAR.

It's like saying 10 Thais each produce 1 baht of wealth. A single foreigner produces 5 baht of wealth. Conclusion: Thais are twice as productive as foreigners. NOT!

Bill Cosby

I have a trustworthy friend who has worked with Cosby on several projects who tells me one also needs to look at the current fiasco in the context of the times. The late 60's through mid-70's was a period of "free love" and mass drug-enhanced sexual indiscretion. When Cosby saved NBC, he was HUGE. M...

New International School Coming to Udon?

Anyone have feedback for the first term which concludes this week? How many students per age group/class? Is it yet another international school stuffed with slow children of wealthy Thais? How many students are already English speakers?

Motorcycle helmets

I used to admonish others for riding without a helmet. That was before I fully understood Darwinism. Ride on! Seriously, people: If you are single with no responsibilities, then yes it is your right and your choice how you ride. However, if others depend on you for support and/or you have children, ...

Re: Thanks she has Ebola and flys back

I'd rather the country sit on its collective hands than follow any suggestions from Rachel madcow or msnbc. Pure propaganda 24/7 If sourced, factual reporting is your definition of propoganda, then your Faux News is propoganda-free! Ha! Anyone can watch a full episode and quickly debunk "your opini...

Ear Syringing

"fill up a bottle of water from the tap, set it in the kitchen floor for two weeks"

Ummmm...TWO WEEKS? Not a chance the debris in the bottle could be the bacteria having grown inside the bottle during the TWO WEEKS it was sitting in that bottle on the kitchen floor? :)

Ear Syringing

LOL! The above posts are comical. Just buy regular hydrogen peroxide. Pour half a capful. Lay on your side and pour just enough to fill your ear canal. Wait 6 minutes. It will pop and fizz as it breaks down the earwax and loosens other debris, but don't freak out. It may also feel warm if there's LO...

Actually, we do have a health Czar. Oops! "supposed to have" a health Czar: The U.S. Surgeon General is the position responsible for coordinating all that needs to be coordinated - including disseminating information to the public. So, where the $@&*! has the U.S. Surgeon General been since all this...

Islamic State on the March

"We don't have a strategy yet." President Barack Obama spoke a great deal about Syria, Iraq and the Islamic State (IS) in Thursday's press conference, but these six words are dominating the non-beige-suit-related discussion among US politicians and pundits...The line was part of the president's res...

Geckos. Seeking total extermination...

It's sorta common sense: If you have lots of geckos, it's because there is lots of food for them to eat. I'd rather have geckos than roaches. That said, our home is well sealed (have central air), but there are always 2-3 geckos around downstairs and 1-2 upstairs. They certainly earn their keep and ...

Call for minimum wage rise to 450 baht per day

Although their is a nominal increase in the minimum wage, eventually inflation will flow through the economy and the real value of the wage increase will be surmounted leaving the poor poorer than before the wage increase. It is an irrefutable FACT. To wit: A person earning 300b today enjoys the sam...

Call for minimum wage rise to 450 baht per day

Raise the pay of the providers of the fundamentals and the inflation goes right up the chain disproportionately. That is basic macro-Econ 101 and actually makes the ones at the bottom poorer than they were before the raise (!!!). Hence, why the previous doubling of the minimum wage is no longer enou...

We had a discussion about the foreign exchange program and trips abroad. The impression I got from my daughter was that participation would be REQUIRED or points would be deducted. I am a bit outraged if that is true. I am the parent and if I don't want my daughter to fly off to wherever, the school...
